Any comments on Axel Rindell? Noticeable improvement for those watching him? Does he have a chance to get drafted this year?

17pts in 34gms for Jokerit as a 19 y/o.... similar in age & output to Lassi Thomson and Anttoni Honka this year.

A slight correction, he plays for Jukurit, which is a Liiga team, not for Jokerit, which is a KHL team. Otherwise I pretty much agree with you. Has been pretty impressive indeed, and I think he would be definitely worth a pick.

2005-born forward Tuomas Uronen has played three games for KJT's B SM-Sarja team (in the lower division) since the beginning of the new year, scoring a a point in each. Jesse Nurmi remains with KooKoo's B-team in that division. Maybe we'll see Samuel Sisik move up permanently to the TPS B team, though he'll face more competition as it's in the highest division. Have the top three U15 players all played a large number of B-juniors games before?

It was surprising when Tanus and Oden were passed over last draft. I think they showed enough to warrant a selection. It’s a small sample but both were also pretty good at the most recent WJC-20. I think Oden has the better chance strictly due to having better size thus could fill a bottom 6 role more predictably than Tanus.

I haven’t seen Rindell play and I can’t help but wonder why he was left off the WJC-20 team. Any thoughts? His numbers are quite incredible especially accounting for his age, and for how few goals his team scores.

Why was Emil such a popular name in 2005?

Sigh. Seriously people, when can we get over this "this & that many points - he must be great"? Hockey is nowadays as much a defensive game as an offensive game, you need to be able to keep up, play in both directions, have a physical presence on the ice, and do things that benefit your team. Especially when games get tougher (like playoffs), individual player points totals are as good as useless.

That's why some players get "overlooked".

How would you rank these three drafts based on Finnish talent? Which has the best talent overall, depth or star potential?

some thoughts

I think the top end of 2022 draft is strongest. Lambert is the best prospect of the bunch and Kemell for me 4th best only behind Lundell, Räty and Lambert. Topias Leinonen for me is the best goalie prospect ive seen in U16 national team since they started streaming those matches some years ago. He had some incredible performances but needs consistancy for example he wasnt so good in Youth Olympics. Youth Olympics were big eye opener on Elmeri Laakso he also might be the best defensman thou Topi Niemelä is giving good competition. Otto Hokkanen and Jere lassila are highly skilled center/winger hybrids with lovely hands Hokkanen gets the edge because his bigger. Even my 7th ranked Topi Rönni has middle 6 NHL center potential. 2020 drafts for me has the best defensman group the top6 guys Niemelä, Viro, Puutio, Jurmo, Sedoff and Rafkin are all really good prospects. Dont sleep on Puutio I think he played ahead of Niemelä in lineup for Kärpät U20 and Finland U17,U18 national
teams last season, he got injured in february and theres good chance he could have played the U18 world champs over Niemelä had he not been injured. Those 2 have been very close in talent for me in the past but ofcourse this season Niemelä playing for Kärpät and Puutio in NA theres big exposure difference for us Finns. The top 12 guys or so for 2020 draft have stayed the same for me past 2 years only Joni Jurmo entered the top mix this season. 2021 has really good center depth with Räty, Salminen, Miettinen, Helenius, Marjala and Virolainen all capable playing there. Räty, Salminen and Tuomaala are first round talents in my eyes, Salminen gets nod over Tuomaala because his bigger and stronger with underrated skill and can also play center. Paavo Kohonen, Jani Lampinen, and Juuso Helomaa have shared the national team duties in goal and I like Kohonen the most but I dont see 2021 having high pick goalie prospect, Aleksi Malinen is my top defensman for 2021

It's very difficult to say if the draft class is weak or not because it's still so far away. But there is Jesse Nurmi at least, who scored 18 points in 22 games in the Jr. B (U18), trailing only Puljujärvi, Vaakanainen and Laine in point production at that age.

KalPa U16 forward Topias Hynninen also looks promising. He's a late 2005 so won't be eligible for the draft until 2024. Skilled, quick, very smart winger that can be a dual threat in the offensive zone. Plays well without the puck as well given his age. A name to keep an eye on IMO.

Otso Ylitalo
A goalscoring sniper who loves to shoot. Average+ skater with not very good acceleration and lacks separation gear to blow past defenders. Already good size but has no physicality to his game. Good hands and strong on the puck uses reach well to protect it but not a dangler by any means. Smart at finding shooting positions and anticipating plays well. Plays solid defensivily.


Emil Järventie
An elusive offensive forward whose dual threat at scoring with sharp wrist shot and making plays. Good and agile skater with strong hands can challenge defensmen 1-on-1. Engaged and dangerous almost shift by shift basis. Constantly lurks for breakaway opportunities. To sum his got very good combined package of skating, skill, smarts and scoring.

Good job with those videos. It's refreshing to see a prospect video that contains mostly plays that didn't pan out rather than just goals/assists. Are you going to make a similar video for Tuomas Uronen?
 
2020 Pohjola camp's best goalie Emi Vinni has joined HIFK's U18 team.
Does someone know is Vinni future NHL goalie and how talented he's ?
