I wonder if Finland hockey association will retire 64 after his career is over. I think he deserves it. I don't remember a single bad tournament from him.
He was kind of underwhelming in the 2012 WHC. Plus just last spring, he had that brainfart which led to him being suspended for the QF.

But those are small fries compared to all the good he's done for us. Nobody's perfect.

Intermission they were commenting Gus didnt look right in warmups. I wonder if he thought he could play through something and was obviously failing to do so.
I don't buy that, there is no way he would've played if he was questionable. Im not saying this tournament isn't important, but it's not that important that you put a goalie in if there is any question about his health.

Wow, for a team with a noticeable dearth of talent on the back end (at least on paper, and in how they contained things early on and retained possession) the Finns as a whole played quite well the whole game. With how they were down 1-0 and kept without a shot largely through the first, I thought the Swedes would run away with it, but the Lundell and Rantanen goals really helped right the ship and give them confidence. In fact this pesky group of 2-way guys (Barkov, Aho, Granlund, Lundell, Luostarinen, Lekhonen, along with depth D in Vaakanainen and Matinpalo) contributed so much off the counter-attack and helped them stay in it against what might be arguably a more talented Swedish group. Excited to see on Monday if either of these teams qualifies for the championship.

There is no way he benched him for his play, or he needs to be fired before the next game. Has to be some kind of nagging injury or something. Arsi is the kind of player that will never not do what coach asks of him.
I don't think they actually benched anyone, they just stacked their best players up and played only 3 lines to try and get a victory before losing points to OT.

Yes, but Gus almost won us the game against Canada so he was the right guy to start. Being passive would have been keeping Gus in goal for the remainder of the game.

Zib had a face off % of 83, taking a lot of them against Barkov and he scored a goal.
Except Gus didn’t win the game and let in a bad OT goal that lost them the game, and apparently he was sick today so the coach is an even bigger idiot for playing a sick player that let in some weak goals today.

Also, faceoffs don’t win games and while he scored a single goal he did nothing else the rest of the game (bad players can score.)

Was going to point out the thing he did last year but you are right, dude has always been available and given his all. He will surely be a "jääkiekkoleijona".

Edit: Ristolainen has bit of a journey to that, dude is always "injured", i dont actually even give a f*** if he is injured atm i don't like the dude at all.

Zib had 25% of the team's entire shots.

Not that I think Zib is great or anything. He just seems pretty on par with this underwhelming group of Swedish forwards.

Besides Eklund being left off the roster, another Swedish player that was left off that would’ve been better than Arvidsson and Nyqvuist since he has more than their 18 and 20 points, is Zetterlund. He’s a stocky and fast player that has a hard shot and can play a chippy game and throw the body while also bringing some skill and speed.

Mighty Americans? Most overrated team in 4Nations. Good chance they lose by 3 tonight and get eliminated by Sweden Monday.
They will absolutely destroy Canada tonight.

I love Zetterlund, agree 100%.

You think the score would be different if Finland had Heiskanen and Sweden had him though?

Edit: if we gonna cherrypick i guess i can pick an injured player as well.
