You just had to bring up Russia.. jk jk but funny thing is that here in Sweden people actively refer to Finland as a "Nice bumper between Sweden and Russia". They are partly joking of course but basically its true as well

I assume Finland is anticipating a less physical game, so Kakko is in for Armia to get more skill across the lineup. I thought Armia was fine against the US.

You won't believe me but the reason it needs to be posted is because you just typed the word 'Russia'. And the second are typed in a thread, all hell breaks loose. No joke. It's like saying beetlejuice 3 times.

Super excited for this one. On paper, given the missing FInn's, this is Sweden all the way. I can't see the Finn's rolling over though. They played 2 excellent periods against the US. The penalty call at the end of the 2nd (and a combo of shit play and Saros not looking great) did them in.

I think they make a game of it. Sucks about no Heisk. I get some posters will argue their Top D is better and that may be true. But Sweden has 6 all stars and Finland had 1. So you take an all star away from Sweden on D and they have another all star ready. You take away the one all star from Finland on D and you have no All Stars. Heisk was a key!

Happy to see Lankinen and think that's the right call. I like Saros but he may be living on name reputation the last 365 days or so.

As a nucks fan I'm torn. I want to see the old EP emerge and pop off but Lankinen has likely earned us a playoff spot and a very likely second chance at the oilers.

So maybe an EP hatty with Lankinen making 50 saves?

Rarely do Finn/Swede matchups let me down. Lankinen was a brilliant signing btw. 875K for 1 year. Meanwhile Oilers need a goalie and just can't seem to find one.lol

Lankinen starting is the right choice, as well as having Kakko in the lineup. Good.

However, I would've benched Haula instead of Armia, and moved Hintz to center to allow Teräväinen and Kakko move up the lineup. Go with 3 scoring lines (with strong 2 way centers) and a shutdown one. Something like:

Granlund-Barkov-Kakko/Laine
Lehkonen-Hintz-Rantanen
Teräväinen-Aho-Kakko/Laine
Luostarinen-Lundell-Armia

On D I'd rather have Välimäki than Matinpalo.

Määttä-Mikkola
Vaakanainen-Välimäki

We'll see how the current lines work I guess. Hopefully Pennanen is open to changes mid game if they don't work.

Can one somehow watch FREE from Nelonen/Ruutu? Viaplay in Sweden costs a fortune at least. And no Nelonen is not on my TV as I aint in Finland.

This game is going to be fire. I think both FIN and SWE are sitting here like, everyone talking about USA/CAN but we f***ing hate each other, too.

I expect this game to be intense af as you have another huge hockey rivalry as well as two teams that dont want the world to forget that they are a part of this tournament
