But in all seriousness, for better or for worse, Team Canada generally starts slow in most tournaments and take time to ramp up - usually losing once in the RRs to RUS/USA/SWE only to face them in the semis/finals and win.

It's been the modus operandi (not always successful of course!) for like the last 20 years of true Team Canada hockey. I envy the USNTDP - at first, to create team chemistry and raise their compete levels, but now they also have some real elite skill; feels like Canada will never follow suit.

The depth on this team is terrific.
