I never understand this excuse, they’re used to playing against older guys. It’s nothing new.

The talent level on let's say the Americans is obviously a step up to anything they would see in the CHL. The overall talent level of their teammates also makes getting ice time harder to come by. It isn't an excuse, it's something that has happened at this tournament for decades now.

In Jr. they are used to playing against teams with 4 or 5 19 year olds not teams full of them. And even if they are playing in adult teams in Europe they are probably pretty sheltered.
