Ou god next years team will be even much worse than this year. I think will take years before we could content for gold.
Defense is semi ok but forwards abysmal.

Max Westergård - Jasu Mensonen - Rasmus Kämäräinen
Atte Joki - Eetu Orpana - Joonas Rajala
Jeremi Virtanen - Aapo Vanninen - Jere Somervuori
Rasmus Baggström - Benjamin Strömberg - Lauri Kouhia
Aapo Katavisto

Julius Saari - Jesper Kotajärvi
Lasse Boelius - Aaron Paju
Veeti Ruotsalainen - Alvar Ervasti
Erno Uusitalo

Patrik Kerkola
Jooa Sammalniemi
Kasper Kuusikoski

from underagers Juho Piiparinen should have good chance making it

Kotajärvi, Westergård and Kerkola are like the only ones worth mentioning and they aren't even on the same level as force Finnish youth "Stars", or should I say prospects. Looks really bad. No real star quality yet, nor any depth. I'm not even gonna watch Finland next year.

Also, if we weren't medal contenders this year? Then we are barely a QF contender next year.

So you predict Finland plays relegation round next year?
It would be exactly that wake up call what jääkiekkoliitto really needs right now so hopefully it happens.

Looks like no man childs this time to dominate against weeniers. Just a bunch of nobodies.
They play for NHL contracts not for the team.

I haven't watched finland since Björninen took a swan dive in overtime to win what? Freaking Ŝkoda cup. In the NHL Björninen would have gotten 5min penalty for embellishment.

Once we start to teach young hockey players to play like real men and not to swan dive for power plays. Maybe we can win.

Finland preliminary selection roster for Hlinka. They will play one test game vs Finland U20 challenger team and select players for Hlinka afterwards in July.

Kerkola Patrik

Kotajärvi Jesper, Tappara Tampere
Paju Aaron, TPS Turku
Piiparinen Juho, Tappara Tampere
Ruotsalainen Veeti, Kärpät Oulu
Saari Julius, Jokerit Helsinki
Uusitalo Erno, Jokerit Helsinki

Forwards:
Baggström Rasmus, HIFK Helsinki
Joki Atte, Lukko Rauma
Katavisto Aapo, Kiekko-Espoo
Kouhia Lauri, Jokerit Helsinki
Kämäräinen Rasmus, Ässät Pori
Mensonen Jasu, Lukko Rauma
Orpana Eetu, Tappara Tampere
Pihlajasalo Lenni, HPK Hämeenlinna
Rajala Joonas, Tappara Tampere
Somervuori Jere, HIFK Helsinki
Strömberg Benjamin, Jokerit Helsinki
Vanhanen Matias, HIFK Helsinki
Vanninen Aapo, Örebro HK SWE
Westergård Max, Frölunda SWE

Pretty much best possible roster almost no surprises. These same fellas have played couple years now on NT. Only Jeremi Virtanen seems to have fallen out of favour since he didn't play in April tournament either. Only Matias Vanhanen is newcomer to NT don't think ive watched him play.

It will be interesting to see if there is going to be real competition between goalies. Kerkola has been playing "one year ahead", except in national team of course. And Kerkola had already few games in men's leagues (Liiga+Mestis). It looks like they both have played against the best teams (SWE, CAN, USA). If the team overall isn't the "best ever", it sure will give goalies chance to show their skills.

Great to see Vertti Svensk after long while! very promising defender. Also interesting both Alalauri and Laatikainen make over Piiparinen. They have higher puck skills and rush ability but Piiparinen is unbeatable defender wins every battle and pucks. No surprises selections really. Jesse Pärssinen seems to have taken Strömberg spot permanently and Joonas Rajala has dropped from system.

Alalauri looked like the guy to me to at the WHC17. I wasn’t very impressed with Piiparinen.
