Seeing this is really putting thoughts into my mind about somehow travelling to the next WHC with Sweden & Finland co-hosting. Imagine if this final played out again, insaaaanity guaranteed. '95 deja vu (except the final would be in Helsinki).

It would be big, but probably not as big. I mean, this celebration is this big because of:

2007 - WHC Silver
2006 - Olympic Silver
2004 - World Cup Silver
2001 - WHC Silver
1999 - WHC Silver
1998 - WHC Silver

That's six straight lost finals, not to mention all the other top 4 finishes along the way.

Compare it to Red Sox winning it in 2004 vs. 2007.

I wonder if any Russians are watching this - they are probably the only nation that could surpass this drunken revelry... I think we can be excused though: a long, painful, humiliating drought has finally ended! Next time (unless in +10 yrs) we might still try to be a touch more sedate...

Ah, I see what you mean. Right, right.

Atmosphere would still be pretty unreal in the host cities though.
