well I hope old Austin matthews has a hell of a next game (maybe a hatty and deliver a spectators baby).
really want laine wearing a jets sweater next yr.

Really think Backstrom is mostly in this tournament to learn about coaching and being a good model/presence for young guys.

Glad the rustiness only lasted one period.
The lines did seem to work well, the Barkov line better than the Koivu line, though. Even the 3rd and 4th lines got offense going, but Pulkkinen was invisible/miscast.

Barkov and Laine were the best for me, they did develop chemistry fast.

Saw this on twitter:when Finland won in 2011 and Granlund had the famous lacrosse goal, Laine had just graduated from grade school. (Or maybe first year of junior high, but grade school makes a better anecdote!)

Laine with 3 points once again in an beautiful performance and good 2way, but lets not get carried away, Matthwes is matthews still.

When Patrik Laine shoots, he isn't shooting the puck. He's rolling the Earth underneath.

When Patrik Laine shoots, the puck is actually getting younger.

When he played his first NT game, he broke two National records.

Youngest player to play mens Tournament and youngest one to score a goal. Earlier records were by Reijo Ruotsalainen.

Some say his weaknes is skating, but still his skating is compared to Lemieux and he glides trough defenders again today. Pretty solid weakness.

Actually a bit scary irl. I don't cope well with expectations.

Ruotsalainen, what a beautiful surname.
