I hope they get Rantanen back in lineup in next game because he could carry a line and puck with his awareness and puck protection.

Lineups are ****ed up. No goal scorers in the offensive lines.

I really don't get what is Jalonen's logic with these lines:

Sebastian Aho–Mikko Koivu–Mikael Granlund

2 great playmakers and a 2 way forward. Even though they can all score some goals, it would be better to take away either Aho or Granlund and put a sniper there (Pulkkinen).

Patrik Laine–Aleksander Barkov–Jussi Jokinen

Looks fairly fine, ecxept Laine is on the opposite wing I think, which is wrong for him. Still, would like him with Aho. We saw in the US exhibition game that these two have great chemistry together.

Mika Pyörälä–Jarno Koskiranta–Leo Komarov

Defensive line, clearly. But why did Jalonen break the Komarov-Rantanen duo, their line was clearly the best in the USA game.

Teemu Pulkkinen–Tomi Sallinen–Antti Pihlström

A sniper, and two defensive players. Or rather, Pihlström kinda reminds me of myself when I played hockey. Could skate like the wind, but no hands, and not big enough to make signifficant physical difference.
Pulkkinen is just wasted here.

Well that was bad. Luckily the PK worked.

Nice shift there at the end for the first line though.

I have faith in our men! Koskinen at least looks relatively solid today. *knocks on wood*

Something wrong with the ice? Laine stumbling, then Aho, also think some Belarussian players were tripping. Finland looking lazy, Aho however once again looking sharp. Our problem seems to be our breakout.

Koivu's line not working at all, as expected. All of these guys need the puck on their stick most of the time.

Rusty, very rusty. But Belarus has good players there. Finland will get better. This isnt the first time we have sucked in the beginning of tournament.

Since Selanne retired, we only got 1 goal scorer and it isn't pulkkinen.

On this roster he is as close to one as you can get aside from Laine.

But like I said I'm not a fan of him at all. All he has is his shot which he uses from everywhere, a lot are bad shots. I wouldn't want him in the top-2 scoring lines.

Did Saukkonen just say that Jokinen played in Dallas this season or did I hear wrong?

Considering how spaced out Saukkonen usually is this doesn't surprise me one bit.

Finland didnt show anything special but no none expected this to be a cakewalk.

Yeah I'm not going to draw conclusions based on one period but I don't get why Laine is playing his off-wing. With a young guy like him, why wouldn't you offer him the best chance to succeed=help the team by helping his game?

Yeah he looked great. I already forgot how big he is, he looks huge out there.

His stance/stride really does remind me of Lemieux or Kovalchuk. Main complaints against him are apparently acceleration but he has such strength in that stride.
