Granlund was not traded and if he decides to come he would be CLUTCH for Winland - as proven previously...

Lots of good finns in AHL

Brad Lambert, Räty brothers, Tuomaala, Kemell, Koivula, Heinola, Ottavainen, Merelä, Niemelä etc

Could any of this guys be a option?

I don't think anyone with no men's national team experience would come from AHL. So Merelä would be the most likely from that list, however, Crunch is the top team in the division right now.

Eye of Ra, we get it - you're scared of Winland again

Therapy is available but you need to stop posting on HFBoards and other sites - after that we can help you :)

I really really really hope for his last Worlds, Jalonen picks mostly players from NA.
- i mean, i wish he would finally do that, let it be his.. graduation,
or his he scared, that he is not good enough coach to coach a team of
absolute best possible available players

I do not want to see players like Antti Suomela and such... again! -period-
i'd rather have AHL players

Bring in Räty brothers, Lambert, Jesse Ylönen, Pärssinen, Armia
Kasperi Kapanen, Granny, Maccelli, Tolvanen, Valtteri Puustinen
Pulju, Merelä, Pyyhtiä, heck even Kupari before Antti Suomela..

bring also likes of Joker, Vaakanainen, Välimäki, Hatakka, Matinpalo,
Niemelä, Ottavainen,

i'm sick and tired of seen those Ohtamaa and gang there, etc. etc. again
no more "Bobby" Lehtonen either, please, no Kemiläinen either (puke)
Koivisto too, stay away!

Guess what? Not gonna happen. :D Most of those AHL-guys dont even have a contract after this season. We will see the same core as in last years, but can expect Manninen, Hartikainen, Vatanen etc. "old breed" to decline invitation this time.

Hopefully that won't mean Helenius skips U18 WJC's.
We can't lose any our best players ( including Helenius ) if we wanna win gold or any medal.

Our 2007 age group is not that good
so all top 2006 players should be in U18 WJC's especially now when tournament is in Finland

U18 camp starts at 15.4 so plenty of time for Helenius to join that team.

Looks like the rebuild for the national team is finally underway. Nice to see so many new names instead of the same old year after year.

Smells like captain Björninen for the current squad, but if I had to bet, I'd put my money on captain Granny for the actual tournament, until we know if even bigger fish will bite.

May see a significant portion of this lineup in the final Europe Trophy tournament.

My hunch is that the lineup at the World Championship will feature a lot more prominent players.

I'd like

Maenalanen Bjorninen Puliujarvi

As a fourth line. Just a big massive energy line. IQ won't be through the roof but I think it would be an awesome hard hitting fourth line with tonnes of speed.

First line:

Macelli Granlund Kapanen

I'd love this line. I know Kapanen point production is not great but when he is on, he is great. I'd start him here anyway.

Second line would be great to get Haula and Armia (who is having a good season)
Maybe Manninen with them or Puustinen maybe with Manninen 3rd line centre.

I know I probably over reached with the NHL players but the NHL players available under contract I think would mostly come. And this would be the basis for my forward lines if they would come and be asked.

Is Blomqvist or Tikkanen as goalies out of the question?

Räty? Lambert? Ottavainen? Niemelä?

This is the team right now, who do you think sticks and who leaves?

Konsta Helenius is looking good right now.

I wouldn't at all mind Björninen, Mäenalanen, Helenius, Oksanen and Pakarinen staying. Some sand paper, lots of hard work and some skill too.

Kaski.. I just don't think he handles specific instructions that well and he just doesn't get out much offense at all in the national team. It's not a skill issue, but I have never seen anyone hunt the logo as much on the PP.

Hyry, Turunen, Koivunen, O.Kapanen maybe Ohtamaa, Mäenpää and Mattila should join from Kärpät and KalPa next week. No idea about SHL/NLA players.
