With rumours coming about Raimo Helminen being the new coach and 2019 team playing terribly, I figured I would start a thread for next year. The tournament will be in Czech Republic so the tournament will be played on the big ice, so it should be better for us. Kakko should be playing in the NHL, so not available. Kotkaniemi would be eligible too but I don't see him playing as he didn't play in the 2019 tournament.

Even if we are gold winners in the end of the current tournament, I still wanted to make this thread.

I would add some players that should be considered:
Forwards: Arttu Nevasaari, Ville Petman, Kristian Tanus, Konsta Hirvonen, Jesse Moilanen, Patrik Siikanen, Niklas Ylitalo and some younger guys like Kasper Simontaival, Veeti Miettinen and Matias Mäntykivi.
Defensemen:
Santeri Salmela, Elias Laitamäki, Peetro Seppälä, Iivari Räsänen, Ruben Rafkin and Kasper Puutio.
Even though Kotkaniemi and most likely Kakko will be absent this seems to be a very deep and talented squad aswell.

Thanks. Not sure how I missed Kristian Tanus even though I've been really impressed with him this season.

E: I added lots of players.

As a Habs fan I thought going into this season we would without question have a great shot at maybe landing a guy Like Kakko, maybe play him with Kotkaniemi and really get that rebuild rolling but no, they are actually winning games with that shit roster this year.

we can't even tank correctly.

I wish it is just a rumour. :(

If / when only candidates to next U20 head coach really are Raimo Helminen, Marko Virtanen and Tuomas Tuokkola there's not much to do. Tommi Niemelä should have been next U20 head coach but he's signed to Lausanne's NLA team assistant coach so he's not available.

Who else it could be if not Helminen,Virtanen or Tuokkola.
There's no much coaches coming available except Ari-Pekka Selin ( HIFK contract expires after this season)

Looks like another QF exit coming, can we please pick a decent coach(Not Raipe) and the best players next time.

If / when only options next U20 head coach really are Helminen, Virtanen and Tuokkola it should tell something.
There really isn't better options available for that job.

All potential names like Tommi Niemelä to next U20 head coach are already signed somewhere else.
There's no much coaches coming available after this season except Ari-Pekka Selin
And i'm ready to make bet on that Selin doesn't want coach U20 national team.

Why is it that in Finland every coach is considered garbage until they win a NT championship (be that adults, U20 or U18)? I just don't see a way in which Niemelä right now is a "better" head coach than Tuokkola or Virtanen for example.

Jääkiekkopomo paljasti: Suomi matkii Ruotsia – seuraava Nuorten Leijonien päävalmentaja on mukana myös Leijonissa

Seems that Raimo Helminen isn't Finland's next U20 head coach.
Finland is modelling Sweden and next U20 head coach belongs to men's national teams coaching staff.
This means that there's two candidates who fits that description they are Antti Pennanen and Mikko Manner.

I think both of them would be great options for the position. However the article doesn't say that the next u20 coach is currently working with the men's team, but rather that the next u20 coach will also be involved with the men's team.
