Helle was Pavlecian - and that is not a rare thing this season.
CBJ really only looked dangerous once and he made the save on that one. With that save, it would have been a SO last year. He would have stopped all 3 that went in.

@AlphaLackey
You are right. Helle improved a lot since the start of the season. This game was not any part of that. It is harder to remember his good games after another of his still too frequent bad ones. His good ones haven't been that good.

The whole team seemed to go to sleep after Little's missed goal. They were starting to wake up about the time of Appleton's goal.

They are definitely having trouble playing close to complete games. Maybe no team really puts in 60 min games but a top team should be capable of pretty consistent 50 min games, even 45. 30-35 seems to be getting it done but how long can they keep that up?

But all in all it was a good experience being there in person. Better than I expected. Made some good memories for the grandkids. :thumbu::)

Makes my Moose game experience seem even worse by comparison. It wasn't about the size of the crowds either. It was mostly the damn music. Call it the production.

We shall speak of Pavs no more.:thumbu:

Had centre-line box seats for this one! Though they were outshot, Jets had the better chances, and this game could have been 6-3. A good game all around (aside from the last ten minutes of the first). Columbus is a good team that's underperforming right now though.

Somewhere nice
While I tend to lean towards the load up side as well, your ask would cost a lot. Unless you are talking a low cost depth defenseman, 2 difference makers are usually past the amount of futures a team can afford to spend.
If it can mean the chicago way of giving up picks and assets to win cups 2-3 in the next 5 years. I think that is ok to mortgage :)

As long as they can keep the nuclious less anybody above 30 in 5 years.

I just think
Tampa and t.o. and nashville will load up.

This is one of the years you know the team can win it all.

I do agree this team is solid all the way around, and can win it all, if they add one more piece--and that's a dominant 2nd line center.

Little is good, but doesn't dominate the play like you need in the playoffs. If we stand pat with what we have, we'll likely get knocked out in the 2nd or 3rd round, which is OK.

I'd like to see them make a push for the Cup this year though, and it may mean giving up a really good player to trade for a 2nd line center, or sign an UFA like Duchene, or maybe a winger like Stone. I think the answer though, is to strengthen the center ice position.

Good thing about this team --is we're very strong at the Goaltender position.
