JEANNOT
PROVOROV
TAVARES

- jeannot toughness is a big need , and hes young enough to be here and contributing once window opens = long term important add for free
- provorov an iron horse thats young enough , 28 , to be here long term and move up n down the line up
- neither of these guys are sensational adds , but wouldnt be huge cap hits . while they would help stabilize roster doing important jobs long term without costing any assets
- yes i doubt tavares moves as is quoted loving toronto . but if they pay marner big coin and dont offer jt ide be ecstatic to add another great vet like kane to help raise the kids , ecspecially to teach kasper n dannyson . i dream of danny playing with tavares to teach him becoming a better shooter
- seider n edvinsson going to have to be split to make two legit pairings . pelli with eddie (eventually not next season) , and for now provorov with seider but your hoping a buium or wallinder develops into seiders partner . yes wallinder hasnt super impressed me in gr but he is big and a undeniably very graceful skater . you cant ignore that those high level tools give him a chance to be a top 4 guy if he becomes more mentally developed , and dmen take longer to develop because of the fast pace of pro pucks takes most prospects time to mentally strengthen . and for now aljo plays with eddie , and chariot would go to 3

I’ve been saying it for awhile, the only way they are going to get a significant long term top 4 add is if they trade someone. I seriously think you guys should prepare for a big trade this off season. Because we are not going to get it in free agency. Problem is I just don’t trust our pro scouting department when it comes to that trade.

With that said, I think if you can get gavrikov, then that’s a good add. Also will help buchelnikov transition because I’m pretty sure tarasenko is getting bought out. Not sure why people said detroit is an unwanted destination, for hockey Detroit is not seen as a bad place to live. It’s not as good as like the Florida teams or Vegas, but it’s not bottom of the barrel either.

Ekblad is an interesting idea. It sounds like FLA's probably not going to be bringing him back (not happy about the suspension / the Seth Jones acquire). He's 29 and projected to get a 7yr, $6.9M deal by AFP.

I wouldn't be comfortable with anything close to that price/term with his injury history. But if the price/length is down significantly post-suspension...I'd be interested.

I’d give a lot more money for shorter term. Doubt he takes that though. But he also hasn’t been that great the past couple years according to Florida fans, combined that with the injuries and the suspension and you are creating a lot of risk.

I just want chiarot off this team so bad. Coaches all love him and he's garbage. Gust is useless. Holl is a pylon. Get rid of those 3.

Bring in someone like pronov- seider then ed-asp (yes this needs to be the pairing next season). Ed makes anyone he plays with look better and I don't want asp playing with some unless vet. Then AJ on the 3rd pair with wallinder.

But what else would we give up? Im sure Edmonton would want nhl ready prospects.

I'm not sure. Guys like Compher, Ras, Chia, Copp, Tank, Berggren and Gus are guys we put in over their heads a bit here, expect a bit much. On Edmonton, they could be the depth pieces they need. They might like more roster depth and cap flexibility in term and hit, over Nurse's longer deal. It might not be a high prospect/pick level deal for us.

Would a deal only be those guys? No, but I don't think we're giving up Danielson and 1st, either.

JT would b a great add IMo if he is available. stick him on top line left wing to lessen larkins burden (covering faceofffs , winning puck battles, 2-way game etc). if kane is re-signed as well that leaves soderblom , ras, copp, comp, berggren, maybe danielson to hopefully forge a half decent 3rd line

Here's a suggestion folks aren't going to like but I'd ask Edmonton about Nurse with a bit of retention. I don't think he'll age poorly, and I don't think he would look out of place next to Seider.

It would have to be 3 mil per to take on that contract and I don't see Edmonton doing that. Or they take Holl and one of Copp and Compher, though I don't really want that Nurse deal. I think he is a decent defender, but he has struggled in the post season which makes him less interesting.

I am on board with a Gavrikov as a Seider partner and I bet Yzerman sniffs around Ekblad for a Ed partner as well. ASP and Aljo round out third pair and rid the trash 1 year left dman, somehow, anyhow.

I feel like Ekblad is for sure not coming here after his 20 game suspension. Yzerman has taken on enough issue players.

I think Yzerman would go to a church to Thank God if Holl/Gust/Tarasenko/Copp/Compher cared enough about being good/winning to take a banned substance.

If he's sitting there at a bargain price coming off this suspension, and the term is bearable... That could become a real possibility

Schaefer is the consensus top pick in the draft. Comparing him to Bryam is a joke to say the least.
You and everyone else saying preferring Aitcheson to Schaefer is completely nuts.....just try to forget everything you've heard repeated by free internet scouts.....and watch their highlights back-to-back.

Idk if he makes power skating coaches drool, but Aitcheson actually looks a little faster. And he's 100x more physical. If you're expecting Schaefer to ever be much more physical than Gustafsson, or to ever be a 2nd team PK guy, you're going to be dissapointed.

I also think Aitcheson is actually a little more skilled with the puck going through traffic. And I think he's got a better slap-shot as well.

Schaefer's the better passer and PP QB. But we've already got ASP and Seider for that. And he's got the better/more deceptive wrist shot.

But all-in-all, if I had to pick one to add to the organization, it'd be Aitcheson. I prefer the better defender/physical presence with sufficient offensive skill to the Gustafsson type.

Schaefer:

Aitcheson:

Grown up Seider and Aitcheson would be a mean ass pair. Ed behind them. Hopefully we find someone mean to play w Johansson on the 3rd. Could be a nice, skilled, physical group

Imagine adding Gavrikov AND Ekblad?? We'd pretty instantly become the exact opposite of a lot of our biggest problems. Very sound defensively. Very hard to play against. Very tough, big and physical.

Little exciting to think about actually.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but doesnt Ekblad have some kind of Michigan roots? The kind that the Wings org loves to sign. If Florida is done with him, I can see Ekblad wanting Detroit as a landing spot.

he's from the windsor area if that's what you mean.

Im real scarred of Ekblad, his skating has gone down hill massively since he broke his leg. Someone is going to massively overpay for his services I hope it's not us just to play 3rd pairing minutes.

I think the Detroit bit all depends on what a player is looking for. Big City lifestyle you are going to NY, LA, Chicago. Tax breaks you are looking at down south. Outside sponsorship deals probably the big cities plus Toronto. If you are looking for a quieter lifestyle, where cost of living is low, and its a solid place to raise a family then I think Metro Detroit is a nice option. I think its one of the reasons we appeal to Euro players a lot, and older players with families.
