The few times Drouin looked good was after Gally talked to him on the bench. Drouin nodded and had a good shift after that.

I understand the need to vent but crapping on players like Drouin and Hoffman for their preseason performance is just annoying and sounds whiny. Wait for some real games and then feel free to continue the witch hunt if their play warrants it. But try and start the season with an open mind for your sake and the rest of us who are looking to engage in intelligent analysis rather than navigate through a hyperbolic minefield. Drouin has a number of variables that still leave some hope......maybe not as much for Hoffman as he is what he has always been but is trending in the wrong direction. Adding to the noise that a percentage of which invariably gets back to the player does not strike me as beneficial to the player, team or the fans. So please, at least leave a little time and space for change to take place before erecting your stakes and burning your chosen heretic.

I get as frustrated as anyone else but it is important to try and remain as objective as possible for as long as possible. It leads to improved discourse and isn't that what we all want. I don't mind the in-game rants but the post game comments should require a modicum of restraint.

He can't stay healthy but his point-per-game played is decent.

I know he's frustrating to watch... But for a fanbase that asks for creative plays and more offense, it's quite weird to crap on one of the only ones that actually try to be creative...
He has virtually no offense tho?

He was holding back the offense tonight…

He killed many plays.

Made a lot of good passes that his teammates didn't expect or couldn't handle also.

I feel like MSL needs to find him the right spot and let him do his thing.
You have to be joking. MSL isn't going to fix him we're way past that. You need to stop watching TVA sport.

Drouin scored 15 goals TOTAL in the last 3 seasons.

Nuff said. 5.5M per season for an average of 5G per year is a waste of money in my book even more if that player is the least physical player on that team and the worst defensively.

I really hope he's waive to give a shot to Slafkovski on the top 9. He can also bring with him Hoffman to Laval.

Laval: Drouin and Hoffman

If Gallagher had looked as lost and inefficient as this, I guarantee the hyperboles would be out tonight. To be very fair, I’ve never ever seen Drouin as bad as this preseason.

He looked like he should be on the starting lineup on the third line.

Good to hear.

Is he still playing with Anderson as he did last game? I have to admit I like that a lot for him to learn on the job from a real power forward.

Yes, Anderson was great, we're so lucky to have him. Even Pitlick had some nice moments. Good things for a pre-season game building some chemistry.

Precisely, he can help with landing us Bedard.

I agrre 100% with your take….but in Drouin’s case, he’s been lacklustre for the better part of the entirety of his contract.

If there’s any vet that should had been going all hands on deck in this preseason…..it’s Drouin.

And like always, he demonstrated his lack of heart or urgency in all capacities.

As a vet with something to prove, he should’ve been leading the charge but instead has dragged it down.

His contract can’t end soon enough.

I saw a failed player in Beaulieu
Saw a failed player in Bournival
Saw a failed player in DLR
Saw a failing player in Domi

Now I’m seeing (and for a while now), a failed player in Drouin.

Precisely, he can help with landing us Bedard.
He can also serve as an example of what “not to do” for our young players

The yearly "Drouin's ready to take the season by force" pieces this past August already have a stench on them.

Good news: these were the last Pre-Season Drouin pieces we'll ever hear.

Bad news: the mid-season PR bump is yet to come, and since it is his UFA year we will likely see a few other pieces too especially if he's traded at the deadline

Worse news: the Habs are going to lose a lot of games this year and it'll drive some players and coaches crazy, I pray and hope MSL isn't one of them
