Ok so my in-arena service sucks. What happened in the first when the net was open and we didn’t score? Did Quick dive and get back in time? I haven’t seen a highlight.
Yeah, he stopped it. Crazy save.

Then there was a net scramble and LDBB got stopped by K. miller in front

I don't play hockey but I just don't understand that no players in the league wear a bubble by choice. I play pickleball and plenty of people don't wear protective eyewear but I do. You only have one set of eyes, don't know why you don't protect them.

As a hockey dad I don’t understand it all. My serious hockey kid always had mouth guards in, neck guards on, etc. His worst injury ever was taking a puck to the foot on a very hard slap shot. I can’t imagine what it would have been like if that had been to his face without any protection.

If I played, I’d be the Eric Dickerson version of a hockey player……

Yeah I'm with you here. I play floorball a lot and have seen an errant ball hit an eye of a player and he went to the hospital and stayed overnight for high eye pressure, luckily it went down and he was fine. But that could've destroyed parts of his vision had he not gone. He started using eye protection after that for a while (but has since gotten rid of it, such is the memory of a human). That ball weighs 23 grams as opposed to 154-170 grams for a puck (that's 0.8 oz versus 5.5-6.0 oz; coincidentally I never knew NHL pucks had variance allowed, very interesting in itself).

The "it distorts the vision" excuse is getting a bit old. They'd get used to it. I hope they start introducing it to lower levels and ramp it up to the NHL level in the next decade so nobody gets any competitive advantage.

And right now we'd still have Marchenko playing. I know money can buy a lot but there's a lot of things in the face that will never be replaced back to the original form...

When I was a kid I had a fondness for Joe Juneau who wore a cage of sorts in the 90s for some time. The only Caps player I've ever liked lol.

Well, if the game trend continues, the next eight minutes or so will be the Rangers looking like they're about to score again Any Second Now followed by a sudden Jackets goal in the latter half of the period.
