Gazdic saying post game he’d start Pickard but then after hearing Knobby’s presser thinks KK is going back with Skinner.

In fairness the Oilers were trash in front of Skinner in the 1st period who made several key stops early but did let a soft rebound resulting in the 2nd goal and as usual came across late on a cross crease play which the Cats are obviously targeting on him.

Skinner is also money after a reset but can the Oilers keep coming from behind if Skinner shits the bed early yet again?

I do believe the Oilers will pitch their best defensive game of the series tomorrow night, but need to stay out of the box (here is looking at you Evander and Darnell).

Who starts?

Voting Skinner, only because we have seen this story before, and it always ends with Stu. Oil will win with either one, it’s time.

The Oilers' brass are obsessed with Skinner being the #1 guy, and giving him every possible chance imagineable. My theory is that this is a pathological response to the Campbell disaster -- Skinner kind of saved their bacon after that hairball, and now they feel if they can somehow force him into being a Cup winner or a #1 guy, then they won't all look like idiots.

Anyway, I don't think Skinner was that bad in the 1st period. The 5-on-3 goal is entirely on Nurse for creating the 5-on-3, not the goalie, and there wasn't much Skinner could do on the third one.

But it has become a real thing that the Oil always seem to play better when Pickard comes in.

Maybe start Skinner for 5 minutes, and then pull him for PIckard....? Seems to be a formula that works.

Think it goes even beyond that. If you'll remember, Oilers traded down and did not take Wallstedt. They clearly had confidence Skinner would be the guy here long-term. They've invested a shitload of time into him and have also passed up on much higher ceiling goalie prospects because of their belief of them.

Although Wallstedt hasn't really shown all that much yet, he's also only 22 years old. If he turns out to be a quality starting goaltender and we passed him up for Bourgault, that one will sting.

Neither Jackson, Bowman nor Knoblach were involved with the Oilers when this happened. They are not tied to that event. Whatever the obsession is with Skinner by current management it has nothing to do with not selecting Wallstedt.

It's Pickard. You can't take him out after that OT, and his playoff record this year. Knoblauch is a vibes guy. He was going to roll with Pickard against Vegas until he got hurt. He rolled with Skinner after that because he was great against Vegas and Dallas, and he gave him game 4 because the whole team laid a huge egg in game 3, after two OT games that he probably felt the Oilers could've won.

Now he's going to go with Pickard because he played extremely well and the team played a great game in front of him.

I’m not voting in this pole because who I think should start and who I think the Oilers will start are two different people and I don’t want it to look like I’m voting for the guy I don’t want.

Skinner didn't play bad at all tbh he actually had a few big saves. But I think the players play a lot harder for pickard then they do Skinner. It's even obvious im all the interviews the way they talk about Pickard vs the way they talk about Skinner. Knob has to see that it's plain as focking day

One of the biggest things I know in every players interview they really emphasize how pickard always makes that key save when needed. Its a slight poke at Skinner imo
