The blame the goalie crowd need to read these quotes from Curlock imo. He knows may more than HF

'The Oilers descended into a group of individuals trying to do it on their own or just running around looking for revenge.'

'The main issue for the Oilers over the past two games has been their unwillingness to execute simple, effective plays. It appears they’re trying to score multiple goals every shift, turning every puck possession into an aggressive attack, regardless of their position on the ice'

Spot on from Curlock as per usual. That’s exactly what it looked like to my eye.

It’s not a lack of effort or passion that results in us getting our ass kicked. That’s for the leafs.

It’s the hero mode everyone tries to go into that results in unconnected junior level hockey.

That said, the Oilers playing like crap and Skinner being bad can both be true.

Everyone on that team needs to lay down their game of the season and bring this back tied.

Skinner was bad, team was bad. It's as simple as that. Team needs to be better no matter who is in goal.
Skinner was bad in the second and first game as well. Are you saying the team was bad in those games too? He let in 2 breakaway goals in the second game. First game he gifted them 2 goals with his awful positioning. I don't see how that's on fredric or kulak.

Both can be true. Skinner was crap, as was the entire team.

The double standard is so glaringly obvious. Must be nice have Daddy Campbell in the NHL head offices. Entire series has been a f***ing joke giving Bennett and Tkachuk the benefit of the doubt and doubling down on the Oilers when they do the exact same shit. League mandate is clear here.

I can’t ever remember a scenario where a rules crackdown due to the actions of one team and one player (in this case goalie interference), only for that player and team to be effectively exempt from the crackdown, only for them to focus in and hammer the other team on it.

It’s f***ing insane. I don’t know how the owner’s don’t do something about it. It’s to the detriment of all teams other than like 3, but they still sit there with there thumb up their ass and pretend like it’s objective.

for reference, the only 2 ES goals in Florida was the soft McDavid goal in Game 5

and Janmark's breakaway goal in Game 7

We play cuter in Florida. Straight up. I don’t think it’s much more complicated than that.

We don’t seem to have near as much of an issue getting the puck low and grinding out pucks here and getting to the net in Edmonton. Crowd probably has a lot to do with it IMO.

Then we go to Florida and treat every possession like it’s a f***ing all star game then are baffled when we don’t produce anything going 1 on 3 every single break in.

I really wish Katz would take a fine a speak up. Little Edmonton made the most revenue in the history of a season for the NHL.

Oh no we need to treat thr shit hole franchise, where 10 out of 10 people in a 7-11 never heard of Barkov, with Kid gloves.

The double standard needs to be called out. That Pos Tkachuk throws a few punches first and refs throw their bodies on him smother him risk getting punched in the back to protect him.

Which makes the loss in game 2 even harder to swallow. If they win game 4 somehow then they have a chance with home ice advantage again.

I still think the leading cause of 6-1 routs are bad goaltending. He literally cannot stop a breakaway and yet we won't go with the 6-0 goalie.
Scoring chances were pretty even after one period and yet we trailed 2-0 = momentum killer. Then Perry makes it 2-1 to give us life and Reinhart quickly scores on a weak goal = momentum killer. Skinner's middle name should be 'momentum killer'.

You clearly missed something 😂. Tkachuk was unable to defend himself and Walman fed him 3-4 punches right to the chops.

Obviously I am thrilled this happened and Walman likely does not give a shit about $5000, but you cannot just speed bag a guys face and not expect to get fined.

That said, the Ekholm situation should have resulted in a fine as well.
I’m willing to bet Walman would say it was the best $10K he ever spent though.

Scouting the Refs originally had Jean Hebert & Chris Rooney reffing last nights game when I checked earlier in the afternoon but Mcauley and Charron called it instead I see.

I don’t ever recall STR being wrong before. I could see one ref being swapped out due to illness or whatever, but both? That’s not fishy at all.

That's very true. I really don't want him to start again.

Stauffer whining about Florida being deeper with Hopkins hurt on 880 and Friedman shuts him up. You have a perennial 30-40 goal scorer in the press box because of irrational hate. You have 40 year Perry on your first line with the fastest player on earth (Perry should be special teams and 4th line). You’re playing Kapanen on the second line with the best player in the NHL this year.

My take- move Kane to McDavid’s wing. I’d put Arvidsson there too. Arvidsson has scored in this league- had what 18 goals in the regular season?

I would put Nuge and J Skinner with Draisaitl

Henrique and Frederic have been good. The Frederic hate makes no sense. These two players were 80% in xGF. No other 2 forwards on the team were close. They are generating. If you want speed- you can throw Kap there.

4th line should be Podz, Janmark, Brown. They should be getting limited 5v5 mins.

The lines Knob has makes no sense. None of Drai’s wingers can get him the puck. Perry can’t forecheck- way to slow to turn pucks over so unless McDavid scores on the rush- it’s just going to be a turnover.

I said I want Chun Li brought in dammit.

Yeah, not having Skinner in over Frederic at this point is comical incompetence really.
Frederic has been good. Last night him and Henrique had an 80% xGF. The 2 that need to come out are Janmark who was an AHL level 8%xGF and Connor Brown. Podkolzin as well.

What is comical incompetence is Ekholm coming and the decision to f*** all pairs instead of one. Leave Nurse and Stetcher. Leave Bouchard and Kulak (who were putting up elite number 1 d pair analytics) and then Ekholm and Walman.
