Pickard has been winning games all season though and it continued on into the playoffs.

Not a great goalie but he locks it down when the game is on the line.

As has been stated about Skinner: Very high ceiling, but the absolute lowest of floors. He can be excellent, but he can lose you games on his own. This shouldn't be news to anybody who has been watching him over these last three seasons (and postseasons).

So why did Pickard never lose a single playoff game against LA and Skinner lost two? Or a single playoff game against Vegas? Are those bad teams too?

Or, maybe, just maybe, when Skinner is bad, he's really bad, and much worse than Pickard?

And conversely, when he's good, he's better.

Frederic isn't the problem he's on a 3rd line shutdown role and has been fine with Henrique.

Skinner needs to be in there but he needs top 6 minutes. If nuge is injured he shouldn't be playing. He can't take draws he is invisible on the pp and was replaced by Walman.

Sorry, I wasn't meaning to imply that Skinner should take Frederic's spot on the 3rd line. I fully agree that Skinner should play on the top-2 lines. I'm just saying that Frederic would be the guy to come out, because he has been 110% useless all playoffs. He has 4 points in 19 GP, whereas Skinner has 2 points in 2 GP. Frederic also has the lowest plus/minus of any regular on the team. His xGF% is comfortably in the middle of the pack though, as is his xGA/60. So he has been defensively responsible, which is what is keeping him in the lineup one would imagine. I just think that Skinner's offense is more important with Hyman being out and our 3rd/4th line scoring drying up. We need a goal from somebody who isn't McDrai or 100years old (Perry).

On a side note, Klingberg is 19th on the team in xGA/60, whereas Stecher is 5th. Stecher in more Klingberg is such an obvious move its not even funny, and should have been done (like many of us were calling for) last game. Might have prevented the 1st and 3rd goals against is Klingberg isn't playing and the entire game could have been different.

If they leave Skinner in, he needs to be on an extremely short leash. I'm talking any 2 goal margin deficit, whether it's 0-2, 1-3, etc.. this game 4 is crucial, absolutely crucial to win. You just can't leave it to chance if at least one goal was salvageable and he couldn't come up with it.

I am with you. I have been one of the biggest Stu critics on this board, and he just put up a god-awful GSAx in the last game (like -2.6 I think). I also think that there is a VERY good chance that he sucks again tomorrow night, I would be pleasantly surprised if he finished the game with a positive GSAx as an example. But the team is clearly going to think game 3 was a "throw away" game where everybody wasn't good, and they will give Skinner another chance.

The problem is that is Skinner sucks again, which I do actually think is pretty likely, we are down 3-1 and the series is basically over. Tough spot for the coach really.
