Can can can, you believe how much the Oilers cheat?....*Stares at all of Sam Bennett's game that isn't scoring goals*

It's also funny that they're pouting this much after getting destroyed in the previous 2 series for being wrong a everything. "Hey if you guys are reading this, get over yourselves"

It was a hard pill to swallow...I didn't touch the Internet the last few days but now I am confident again...let's go and show them that we will bend but not break.
In Germany the game was over half past 6 in the morning...this team is killing me mentally and physically, still feels like jet lag...but when you choose a team you are doing everything to support.
So please finish them in regular time, thanks.
And split up McDrai on the road, insert Stecher and Skinner.

Watching on Wow? I don't like the feed. Was Weekes, who is clearly pro Florida..

Wow is sky. It's the online platform if you don't have cable here. Also in Gemany (Cologne).

They were using SN feed until finals... why did they switch now...
I don't know which feed they are using, there are German moderators...so it's fine for me.

Kudos to you, @Pucklington and others who stay up/ wake up at ungodly hours of the night to cheer on the Oilers.

Was a great story in the Edmonton paper last week about a couple from the UK who are devoted fans, watching games on TV back home, who booked airline tickets and came to Edmonton to watch the first two home games. It’s too bad they didn’t get two wins. Their commitment deserved it.

Enjoy the game this evening.

I moved to Cologne from Edmonton... and then they started making runs...

I guess I was the jinx...

Sizable base of Oiler fans here (expats and locals). Cologne is a good hockey town. The Kölner Haier were just in DEL finals ( wrecked by Berlin).

Rink here is nicer than the Saddledome.

Edmonton Gardens was a nicer rink than the Saddledump.

Saddledome is giving its “sister” arena (same design and roof) in Phoenix a run for its money. Went to a concert there 2 years ago and it reminded me of being in the old Corral. Absolute 1960s vibe, broken seating everywhere, just trash. I guess they have so many other venues in the PHX valley that they don’t have to keep it to any basic standard.

I feel for them too...I was last year at Game 3 (thanks to @5 Mins 4 Ftg , he showed me the city and picked me up from the airport which I am still very thankful) of the finals and Game 4 in front of the stadium...and this year to the BOA and in Vegas and LA on the road trip...was amazing memories.
But lots of money spent on these trips with beer prices up to 26 bucks in LA...that Game 2 2OT loss must feel bad for them.
Nevertheless it's time to beat the cats in Florida and show them who is boss.

Been to Cologne back in the day, nice city and beautiful cathedral. I hear they just discovered 3 undetonated U.S. bombs in the downtown. Makes sense, given Cologne was one of the most bombed German cities during the war.

Since 1980 in the Stanley cup finals team who win a game in double OT or later have won the series 10 times and lost twice. (Dallas lost both of those)
Historically double OT playoff losses are massively impactful. Now it’s not impossible in the slightest but it’s a problem.
Fla was 30-0 when leading after 2 in the playoffs before G1. They almost lost 2 in a row.

Florida will have last change and get the matchups they want so we have to keep McDrai apart. Playing them together means we are incredibly easy to shutdown and will just lead to like a 4-1 Florida win.

We need a crap ton more from Nuge, and the entire bottom 6.

Klingberg out, Stetcher in.

Skinner is going to have to play lights out cause Florida is heading home super confident and this OT loss is going to sting, losing games like that can often get in guys heads.

We don’t have an answer to the Lundell line so McDrai are going to have to have huge games cause our bottom 6 can’t compare.

We can for sure win, and this team can surprise but based on the first 2 games we are going to be in for a really rough time in Florida. Best case scenario is a split so here’s hoping.
Our 3rd lines don't compare. Their 4th line isn't doing anything.

The biggest thing they need to do is to not panic and change up everything. They lost game 2, but we weren't blown out of the barn - it was an OT loss. This series isn't over, and blowing it all up and changing everything around when it has been working aside from some defensive lapses, is how you lose series'. Especially to an elite team like Florida.

I think the main reason we're seeing so much of McDrai together is we've been down each game going into the 3rd. If we have the lead then you won't see them play as many minutes.
If I remember correctly, I don't think they played together in the first 2 periods in game 1. I remember the broadcasters saying that Leon hadn't played all that much in the first 2 periods so he could give play more in the 3rd and O/T. I guess because the 1st game went into O/T, Knobs did it earlier in game 2 to try to win in regulation. That didn't work either and it affects secondary scoring when they're on the same line. Curious to see what Knobs decides to do tonight.

I'll disagree only because I feel like a lot of the time changes are made that they have been in consideration for a while, but just not implemented because we were winning.

For example, it was dead obvious Stecher needed to come in, but that didn't happen until we threw away Game 3 against Vegas. Arvidsson also came out for Kapenen in this one as well. I doubt that they made these changes on a whim, especially the Arvidsson one. I think that Knoblauch takes an if it aint broke don't fix it approach, but he just doesn't make his next move until there is a reason to.

Even if something isn't ideal, but you're winning anyways, why show your hand before you have to?

It’s true. Shit we would have won gsme 2 with skinner in for Brown or Frederic. Both had a couple of scoring chances that would have won us the game but they couldn’t hit the broad side of the barn.
And if you have a scoring threat on the 3rd line, you can keep McDrai separate and help offset the Cats 3rd line. What did Skinner do that makes Knobs dislike him so much? I hope he's not leaving it all up to McDrai as they may run out of gas as this series goes on.

Small changes like those aren't the ones I was really referring to. Putting in a different #6 defenseman isn't the issue. When people start talking about pulling Draisaitl's wingers and giving them to McDavid, and just massive roster shuffles, that's more of the thing I'm referring to.

Knob doesn’t make changes if we are winning, even if he wants to. Swapping wingers between lines isn’t a massive change.

Comical. Bouchard has a right to that ice and does not initiate contact whatsoever.

Does Bouchard know exactly what he's doing? Absolutely. But he's allowed to do it.
Wheres the clip show of Bennett kicking sticks away and falling on goalies it's actually stupid if there is anything to this post.

I hope Knobs makes adjustments to the breakout of the D zone and the D pairings. They have to breakout of their zone quicker to limit Cats forecheck if they don't want to get hemmed in for extended periods of time or pile up the injuries.

You just gotta limit Nurse. He’s like beyond fixable at this point.

Bowman has to find a way to punt him even if we win the cup.
Getting Walman just shows how horrific that Nurse contract is. Walman is levels better at almost every aspect.
