This is blatantly false. It is true he had a rough start- but Jan 1 until the end of the season he was one of the best defensive forwards on the team. He significantly improved in that regard
He improved but he is still not trusted by the coach.

The second half of the season Skinner had a lower xGA than… Draisaitl, Arvidsson, Perry, Henrique and McDavid. That’s the last thing he wants and he’s stated as such in various in season interviews. He doesn’t value physical play at all and even trotted out the Eakins quote of the perfect game being a no hitter with Rishaug I believe earlier this season. Edmonton was also the least physical team out of all 32 this season.
Skinner is the least defensively reliable / trusted F of the ones available to KK. That’s why he’s a healthy scratch.
I wonder if that boarding shot he took a few games ago finally caught up to him. Won’t know definitively until July or maybe at all.Wonder if he took a slash or blocked a shot?
I’d swap out Brown for Skinner at this point. Try it for a game. Manage the ice time and matchups. If it’s a failed experiment go back to downtown Brown in game 4. Brown has been garbage so it’s worth trying something different. The second half of the season Skinner had a lower xGA than… Draisaitl, Arvidsson, Perry, Henrique and McDavid.
We need more offense from our bottom 6 and we have 6 guys there right now who can all play fine defensively but have next to zero offensive ability.
It’s true. Shit we would have won gsme 2 with skinner in for Brown or Frederic. Both had a couple of scoring chances that would have won us the game but they couldn’t hit the broad side of the barn.I’d swap out Brown for Skinner at this point. Try it for a game. Makes sense, this is all a massive grind. I know J-Skins isn't the most highly thought of guy, but that's a decent player to just have healthy and freshI wonder if that boarding shot he took a few games ago finally caught up to him. Won’t know definitively until July or maybe at all.
At this point it has to be done. These guys are celebrating when they injure a goaltender. They need to do something about Bennett as early as possible into the game.
I’m not disputing that the power play was brutal and ultimately cost them the game — no argument there. They had 6 PP’s to put the game away. The too many men was BS I agree but they still had 6 PP’s got a measly one goal and gave up a short handed go ahead goal that would have been the game winner if not for last minute heroics. Can’t sit here and say we needed more calls.
Don't do anything in the first period because it gets called. Midway through the second until the end of the game Florida clutches and interferes and not one single penalty.I’m not disputing that the power play was brutal and ultimately cost them the game — no argument there.
But let’s not pretend the missed too-many-men call is irrelevant just because the refs handed out a bunch of penalties in the first period. That’s part of the broader issue with how games are officiated.
You get 11 penalties in the first, 3 in the second, and by the third period it’s like the refs have decided their job is done. That kind of inconsistency is exactly the problem.
The standard shouldn’t fluctuate depending on the scoreboard or the period. If you’re going to call the game, call it according to the rulebook — all night long.
Agree. That's why it felt like a huge waste after trying the game with fifteen seconds left. Florida has some horseshoes. We must, must, must win this series.
This is our chance we might not be this healthy next year

Kane was taking faceoffs on the line with him and Kapanen last game, so make of that what you will.Is nuge hurt, sick, or both?
what?
Look at his numbers in that thread. Every single defenceman on the roster has way better metrics away from Nurse. Kulak especially.
f***ing scratch him.
what?
After our loss last game, he was in the mainboards thread saying Florida in 5 and stuff. One of the biggest doomers on this board will spend massive amounts of time looking for stats to validate his depressive takes on the team, what a shock
He's not even a big guy. I don't know why he hasn't even been hit hard in open ice. They need to do something about Bennett as early as possible into the game.
We’re not that healthy. Hyman gone, Brown apparently hampered, and now whatever the hell is going on with Nuge. Not to mention the rumored bug that’s running through the room. I was confident heading into this series, but once again it’s starting to look like we may be running out of gas and people. We must, must, must win this series.

Renumeration for tweet views and responses has led to this. These guys are Pejorative Slur drama queens.
They called the Bowman thing and what else? Nothing I think. Blowhards
