I thought they implemented a rule about only the captain can talk to the ref? As usual , along with the embellishment rule, it’s not implemented. They have only themselves to blame, they allow pampered overpaid divas to run the show. And you thought NHL refs were bad. The ref today shouldn’t have been allowed to ref, no offence but he’s a MLS ref should have had a much better ref, god I miss Collina he was brilliant

One thing I have not liked about this World Cup is far too many instances of the official being surrounded by half a dozen players and getting screamed at.

I'm not necessarily talking about today's games in particular, but in too many matches they're getting surrounded and bullied. It's awful.

In hockey only the captain can speak to officials. FIFA really needs to implement that rule and give players and teams fines to those that surround the official.

It's abuse and intimidation of the official. It's not a good look for soccer and is the only sport that I can think of where it happens on a regular basis.

That and the showing of imaginary cards by players and even coaches.

Yes, that's been annoyingly constant as well. Hockey players do that too. I think that's more universal. In hockey they'll make hand gestures for penalties, do the head back fake & coaches will gesture and yell.

It's nearly impossible to get all of that out of games.

But anything that involves intimidating the official should be enforced strongly.

Yes he was really bad, I agree about Collina, one of the best. A no nonsense guy with considerably warmth as well.

Seriously? Colombia got 7 yellow cards. 7! All of them were deserved. England got 2.

Colombia should have got a Red for the head butt too. Plus, one of their sideline people elbowed an English player as he was leaving the game, which led to laughable finger wagging from the sideline official.

Then before Kane's penalty kick, which was also deserved, a Colombian player was trying to scuff up the penalty kick spot. It was ridiculous.

Ref was awful and lost control of the game. England lost their tempers but they also had good reason too. Colombia whined about everything.

Columbia's antics in the 1st half were unbelievable poor sportsmanship.

I would say 2 yellow cards were deserved. That's why I said they were diving all over the place. It was really horrendous to watch the English fall like they'd been shot. Didn't think they had it in them.

Then again, pride isn't a virtue.

I agree the English behaved poorly, but so did Colombia. They were hardly innocent victims of the dastardly English. They were as involved in it as England.

It was a dirty game by both sides up until about the 70th minute when Colombia realized they needed to give up the antics if they wanted to score an equalizer.

It settled down after that & actually became good.

It's just a South American/Latino thing. They can't accept any decision that goes against their way nor a defeat. Someone could tackle studs up using both feet, they will plead and tell the ref he made the wrong call. Colombia spent more time talking to the referee rather than focusing on scoring and when they realized they should stop their antics, they actually scored.

In MLS, Toronto have that syndrome as well.

That's my take as well, the main reason it went out of control was one of the worst refs this far in the tournament.

I’m a huge England fan and didn’t like the flopping in the second half....

Generally though there are countries that make a living out of flopping, it really ruins it

The dream final would be Belgium - Croatia. If that fails, France - Croatia.

Love the talent up front from Suarev and cantinata or however his name is spelled. Some gorgeous plays by them.

Edinson Cavani is totally awesome, I get that.

However, there's some serious skill on the French side as well, and they're just significantly less dislikeable as well.

I'm too mad at them for losing to Italy in the world Cup. Black listed.

Team I hate the most in this World Cup is Brasíl.......I’ve never despised a player as much as Neymar.....only Rivaldo rivals with him....coincidently, he is also Brazilian
