Thank God that first month is over. I'll go with something conservative for February:

6-5-1. I think the Rangers find their stride as a team come March.

With no back to backs im hoping the rangers can get things together and play more consistently. Good start on the road against TB but theyll need a lot more. It was obvious TB was gassed in the second game of a back to back.

But i dont think you can use that as an excuse - TB has been fortunate enough to play a lot of games against the same tired teams in the second of back to backs and joe mich said even the players were saying how that has helped give them the record they have.

With that said - how many games do the rangers have in February against teams playing the second game of a back-to-back?

TB on the 10th (again)
@ MTL on the 19th (3rd in 4 nights as well)

Other notables:
Sens are playing their 3rd in 4 nights - and 4th in 6 on the 21st.
Winnipeg is playing their 3rd in 4 nights on the 26th

The Rangers need to take advantage of these games and i think they will considering they have no back to backs until march 8

Its become very apparent that the lack of practice and rest is a huge deal early on. The Devils took advantage of an easy schedule early and now its caught up to them. No surprise they hit a wall yesterday and it will continue.

Devs and Bruins will also be playing the last game of 3 in 4 nights against the Rangers this month. Neither will be on a back to back but with the balance of the schedule Rangers should be able to out-skate these teams like they did against Tampa last night.
