Mine are (in no particular order)

IT Crowd
Community
Parks and Recreation

Depending on what you are into:

90s-2000s
Firefly
Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel
X-Files
Fringe

2000s +
True Blood (guilty pleasure in the end, but the first season is so good)
Justified (very satisfying IMO)
Hannibal (oh god this was good)

My number 1 recommendation is Season 1 of True Detective. It’s a stand-alone season, so you dont need to watch season 2.

Firefly.
Better off Ted.

I'll add more later.

Won't list shows that I felt were amazing but lived their run and were basically more filler than substance by the end (ie community, chuck)

True detective Season 1 is awesome.

And Hannibal is one of my favourite shows of all time.

I forgot about Firefly I watch that over again from time to time

Also the Trek Series (all of them.. some were better than others )

As for community, it went down when Chevy Chase & Donald Glover left. They should have ended it there IMO.. I do like the way that Pierce Hawthorne died though :D

based off the other great choices, this one's gotta be sarcastic.

i came in here to post son of zorn, actually. that show was cancelled way before its time. tim meadows' character is too good.
i just re-watched the inbetweeners (UK), another show with a criminally short run.

Well it was off the top of my head and at the bottom of the list. While not an amazing show I found it funny, but obviously there's a lot better out there, that was one of the more recent ones that I could remember.

Going to take advantage of no one yet mentioning The Wire to claim that prize.

But the one that really first came to mind for me was the 80s Mission Impossible series. Bear in mind I haven't seen it since I was a kid
