Favorite Player you'll never get

Who is your favorite player that isn't on your team and there is no chance you will ever get. Especially those you have an irrationally large love for?

For me its Barzal, who y'all got?

Just wondering, why do you think that your team (whoever it is) will never get Barzal? He's a rookie and will have a very long NHL career ahead of him. I would say there is a possibility that he could wind up on literally any NHL team over the course of his career.



For me, I'm a fan, so my answers would probably be Patrice Bergeron, Joe Thornton, or PK Subban.

How did it feel when STL stole him out from under the Avs noses at the draft. It was pretty well known that's who they wanted and once STL traded up it surprised them, they panicked and took Hishon.

Talk about a big turning moment

I love the kid more than any other player in a long long time. I just don't think its realistic to think you can get a teams young superstar. I mean maybe one day but that's so far off its not really worth considering.

PK would be on my list as well.

Vinny Trochek. I would replace Turris and Johansen in a heart beat in order to have Vinny on my team. The dude puts 110% effort at all times.

He's very Arvidsson (sp?) esq in that way. Guys remind me a lot of each other

Yeah, it wouldn't be for at least 3-4 years I would guess. And even then, they've got a really special player in this guy and might not get ride of him for a decade+

Sens brought it upon themselves but at the time they would have never taken Tara at that spot as he wasn't a big need.

The Avs rightfully targeted him but their scouting staff was headed by a complete idiot and didn't have a good back up plan after the trade happened and panicked. Definitely changed a few things.

Funny enough STL ALMOST did the same thing again by stealing Rantanen by trading with SJ a few years ago but in the end SJ decided they really wanted Meier
