Datsyuk was my favorite player growing up. I don’t know if you’d consider them rivals because they weren’t in our division at the time but I was a huge fan of the late 90s/early 00’s Avs teams. Loved Forsberg/Sakic/Roy. That was the team that got me really in to hockey when it was easier to catch them on tv than the hawks.

Detroit: Datsyuk, Lidstrom, Rafalski, Abdelkader, Helm

Detroit is really they only team i considered a legitimate rival and not a forced thing. Aside from Vancouver, but i just didn't really admire anyone on that team except maybe Luongo.

Anyways, those are the guys i really appreciated despite just absolutely loathing the team.

I really have to ask About Bobby Lou. Did you like him while we played them or later on after he was traded back to Florida? If it's after Van traded him I agree.

I always thought he was a fantastic goalie. And I think he became likeable via twitter and interviews a few years before he was traded from Vancouver.

Datsyuk was a beast and I liked to watch him play when he wasn't terrorizing the Hawks

Not really a rival, but I always liked Eric Lindros and Mario Lemieux.

Current players:
MacKinnon
Rantanen
Seguin
Josi

On non-rival teams:
PK Subban
the Tkachuk bros.
Hedman
McJesus

Stamkos used to be my favorite non-Hawk but he has now been surpassed by McJesus. Poor guy is stuck on the Oilers. Dude shouldn't have re-signed there.

I don’t think there was ever much if any hatred towards Bobby LOUUUUUUUU when he was a Canuck. It was just fun watching him fail because 1) Vancouver fans pumped him up so much and 2) when he’d fail he’d REALLY fail and get pulled from playoff games after giving up 5+ goals.

I agree with this. No dislike for him at all with the Canucks rather it was just fun to taunt him. My dislike was for Bieksa, Kesler, Burrows, and Torres. I really grew to like Luongo due to Twitter.
