Dog days of summer, just curious who everyone loved watching growing up. Doesn't have to be Ex-Rangers, just your Top 3 NHL players. My picks would be

Pavel Bure
Wayne Gretzky
Patrick Roy

Ironically was just talking about this with my brother a few days ago. Might as well go past three and give my Mt. Rushmore of hockey players that I have seen and watched in my lifetime(I'm 54 going on 34 keep in mind...lol).

1. Wayne Gretzky...he and I are close in age and saw him from get go. Easily best player in history of the game AINEC.

2. Bobby Orr...I saw him from '71 on. Best non forward I ever saw and changed the game for dmen. Had he not gotten hurt, the #'s he could have put up are staggering.

3. Mario Lemieux....other than Gretzky, most talented player I ever saw play by far. Probably more talented than Gretzky IMO but injuries have to be taken into account and so Gretzky has the edge

4. Dominic Hasek. Tough call here for me between Messier, Crosby and Hasek to be honest. By a smidgen I have to give Hasek the edge. Possibly best goalie of all-time IMO and easily the best goalie I've ever seen play. He was so *** good and I feel very fortunate to have seen him play in his prime.

Nick Fotiu (All Heart)
Wayne Gretzky (The Great One)
Bobby Gould (Mario Lemieux)

Bobby Gould--ha ha--that's a good one. David Shaw too.

1. Brian Leetch
2. Henrik Lundqvist
3. Rod Gilbert

Some HM's--Nick Fotiu, Ron Greschner, Darren Langdon, Tie Domi (briefly), Mark Pavelich, Adam Graves, Mike Richter, Mats Zuccarello, Sean Avery---I'm sure I could add some more. If Chris Kreider ever completes his game I would add him.

Bobby Orr--best player I ever saw. For an opposition player he is probably my favorite of all time. Another Bruin I liked a lot was Terry O'Reilly--a below average skater with limited skills who out of will and determination put up some 60-70 point seasons and he'd fight anybody.

Gretzky- The best hockey player ever, duh.
Lemieux- The most talented hockey player ever, subtle difference.
Graves- Great player but better person. I loved the way he played.

HM (not far off)
Messier
Leetch
Zubov
Kovalev
Kocur

I am forgetting a few for sure.

Richter. And for some odd reason I pretended to be Darren Turcotte when playing forward.

Steve Vickers, reijo ruotsaleinen, john vanbiesbrouck

Guy lafleur, Bobby orr, Messier

Other fave NYR Beck, Poddubny, Turcotte, Dubi,, Kovalev, Sauer, Gresch, Zubov, Sandstrom, Erixon, Giacomin, Esposito

Other opponents Bure, Lemaire, Linden, Datsyuk, Sakic, Chelios, Shanahan, Kariya

I see some people picking guys who played 20-30 years apart. Does that mean they never grew up? :D
