My very first memory is beating my older sister in Bowling and her telling me that bowling is like golf where the lowest score wins, I went to my dad to confirm and he said she was lying, the nerve!

I remember my Commodore 64 more, loved Spy Hunter, River Raid, and Bruce Lee on that one

Mine was Mountain King, though I played the Atari 5200 version, not the 2600 version. That game was so stressful. Once you stole the crown (@ 4:58 of the video below), you had to get back to the top of the mountain as quickly as possible while the music got faster and faster. I have that tune burned into my brain. There was also a spider that would gradually become invisible and would catch you in its web and eat you alive, head first /shiver.

For the fellow old nerds, what were your favorite games?

I'd have to say mine was Starmaster.
We used to play Star Voyager, which seems quite familiar. My buddy had the special keypad controller.

Most of the fun of the Atari 2600 was having a ton of games and going to whichever genre you craved a game of.

Defender
Jr. Pac-Man
Moon Patrol

Megamania
Fishing Derby
River Raid
Frostbite
Keystone Kapers
Pressure Cooker
Ice Hockey

So many of the Activision games were simple concepts, but you could just veg out and play until the game got unreasonably difficult.

The last couple games we got while the NES started to dominate were Rampage! and Double Dragon. Played the hell out of them, but eventually gave in to the NES. The new Retron 77 was a great trip back in time.
