Does anyone have a list of the fastest players to reach 100 playoff points?
I checked some likely candidates:
This list was compiled manually and I can't guarantee accuracy or completeness. Let me know if you see any errors.
Obviously none of these numbers have been adjusted for era (so Jean Beliveau's 93 games is significantly more impressive than Ken Linseman's 93).
For the six players who scored at least 200 points, I checked if any of them made it to 200 within another 100 games. Crosby, Jagr and Anderson didn't. Kurri got to his 2nd 100 points in 77 games. Messier got his 2nd 100 points in 67 games. Gretzky reached his 2nd 100 points in 50 games. Then he reached his 3rd 100 points in another 57 games. One could argue that Gretzky has the 1st, T-2nd and 4th highest entries on this list.
Draisaitl is currently at 93 points in 56 games, and McDavid has 92 points through 56 games. They could end up 3rd and 4th on this list (unless I missed anyone). Mikko Rantanen is up to 98 points through 77 games.
