Winnipeg can keep trouba.

Toronto doesn't want him with those insane prices.

Gardiner is of equal value, but doesn't make sense for Toronto, as it's just creating another hole.

Rielly or nothing.

Only Leaf that interests me.

And now we have driven straight off the cliff....well done.

A: Trouba wants more money than Rielly.
B: Rielly has a shiny new long term contract....Trouba?
C: Rielly has played on his off side as he was asked by the coaches...[mod]
D: Rielly is a better player.

Dude a measly 17 ev points in a season is bottom pairing material. Polak had 16. Offensively, he's similar to Polak, you can talk about defense but Polak is good in that department as well not to mention more physical. Get where this is heading?

Oh, I get where this is heading.... on the fast track to nowheresville. I can see that you are looking at the world through blue tinted glasses, and nothing will change that. I'm done discussing this with you.

Of course you are. Why try to engage in a discussion when you don't have any reasonable facts at your disposal?

A: I'm not the one comparing Zaitsev/Trouba.

B: Every player (wingers/D) have a prefered side....but most will do what is asked of them for the better of the team. Why don't you list the players who have demanded a trade due to what side they play on.

Somewhat close, Mark Streit demanded a trade because he couldn't have a regular spot on Canadiens' defense, playing powerplay minutes as a left winger. It wasn't about money at all, but a matter of position.

Cool...so...one? And i assume the Habs received a King's ransom in that trade?

Trouba : Proven.
Zaitsev : Unproven.

You really think Trouba wanting to play on his natural side is unreasonable? Show me an NHL Dman that doesn't have a preferred side, and I'll show you a Dman that doesn't care about excelling in the league.

For the record, I'm not a Jets fan, just a realist.

Trouba: proven number 4 Dman. Has not emerged as a top pairing or anything close to elite. His numbers have declined each year, much like Tyler Myers. He reminds a lot of Derek Morris.

Left wing and your off-side is different. A good Dman would adjust. Kid wants 6 million + with decining numbers. Not even a top 2 RHD on his own team. Third year in league. Looked rather average in the WCH -- sitting some games until Ekblad got injured. I don't see the star potential here.

With Zaitsev emerging as an elite RHD there isn't enough urgency or desperation to make that kind of trade. Even Andrew Nielsen is impressing in camp.

It's obvious that the jets are the ones overvaluing Trouba because he's been on the trade market for 5 months with no takers.

Since when

Probably the fact that he's still under 23 and still has 1st pairing potential.

Who doesn't have a contract....
Who is demanding high dollars....
Who is whining about position.....
Who has demanded a trade.....
Who has, by Jets own admition, been played as a bottom pair D behind Buff/Myers (although they value him as top 4).....

These trade proposals were on the website:

Leafs get J. Trouba
Jets get JVR, C. Carrick and a 2017 2nd

Leafs get J. Trouba
Jets get J. Gardiner, C. Carrick, K. Kapenen

Leafs get J. Trouba
Jets get M. Marner and a 2017 2nd

Leafs get J. Trouba, E. Comrie, D. Stafford
Jets get JVR, C. Carrick, K. Kapenen, M. Marincin and a 2017 2nd

Would love the last proposal. Let the discussion begin

IMO the 2 highlighted seem fair value
