Fans of teams eliminated from playoffs, who are you cheering for?

I'm a Leafs fan. So once they're out after round 1 (a little self deprecation is good sometimes) I'll pick a team to cheer for based on storylines. Who's making an improbably run, which players are breaking out, what team is most interesting or entertaining. That's how I bandwagon.

I usually root for the teams that haven't won yet but it'd be cool to see OV win another cup or McDavid his first time.

I also typically cheer for Winnipeg in the playoffs because they lost their team/ never won a cup and think it'd be huge if they won one. I've had good experiences with their fans.

I'm a Sabres fans first but I also root for Montreal when I can (have family there dating to the 1660s) and know their team pretty well.

I'd be happy with any of those teams (Caps, Winnipeg, Montreal, Edmonton) but cannot ever root for the Leafs.

Anyone but the Leafs!! And I've met some awesome TML fans but always root against them. Part of it is probably the geographic rivalry with Buffalo.

The Leafs are so reviled that it has to be kind of cool/edgy cheering for them if you're not a fan, no?

Like cheering for the ultra dick heel in pro wrestling when most are rooting for Hogan or Cena.

If you like drama, you should cheer for them. This site will crash constantly if they get far.

That's not really the reason. Its because Hockey Media and Leafs fans glaze over a team that hasn't done shit. The core has won 1 playoff series in like 7 years yet they are treated like a powerhouse.

I typically root for a team that has never won or hasn't won in a while. Unless I hate that team. Like in 2016 I rooted for Pittsburgh to beat the Sharks.

Calgary is still in the hunt, but odds are we don't make it.. I'd like to see the Jets or Caps go far, but really anyone but Edmonton.

Maybe the Sens/Caps in the east? Tough to root for Florida. Not gonna jump on the Leafs/Tampa/Habs wagon. Although if the Leafs do end up going on a run, I'll take the subway downtown and check the vibe out.

I’d like to see Montreal do well. I’ll cheer for Toronto against Ottawa if they play. In the west whoever wins Colorado vs Dallas I’ll hope goes to the final. Wouldn’t hate Winnipeg making it either. More so I guess the teams I don’t want to see win is an easier list.

As a Wings fan, I’m cheering for Vegas (my local team) and Ottawa. As much as some of the Sens fans on here are insufferable tools they are a fun team and overall a pretty cool fanbase and definitely the preferred Canadian team to win it all as both Toronto and Montreal fans are basically scum of the earth.

It's hard to respond because it's like you think Leafs fans all live in downtown working in a skyscraper called TD (that's Toronto Dominion bank, should be very familiar to you).

It's not like that at all.

Most Leafs fans can't even justify a nosebleed ticket.
