I am of the opinion that the fans banging on the glass has to be eliminated. It is annoying/disruptive to other fans. The players do a good job of ignoring it but the 'glass bangers' should not try to insert themselves into the game this way.
Should the home team be penalized for excess glass banging by fans for unsportsmanlike conduct? Should the bangers get kicked out as they would be for throwing an object on the ice or other unruly behavior
Thoughts??

Oh, I see we're coming for the glass bangers now! But let’s not be too hasty in trying to snuff out this time-honored tradition. Glass banging is basically the official sound of a fan saying, "I’m invested, I’m excited, and I’m here for the chaos." It's like the soundtrack of pure fandom energy — a love letter to the sport that says, "I’m here, I’m loud, and I’m a part of this moment!"

Sure, maybe the players act like they’re unaffected, but deep down, they know it’s a sign they’ve earned the raucous attention. And hey, if it gets a little extra ‘thump-thump’ during a tense playoff game, I’m all for it. It’s not a disruption — it’s a celebration of the passion that makes hockey one of the greatest sports in the world. Penalize the fans for being too into it? Ridiculous. Maybe the players should get penalized for not responding to the pure energy being pumped into the arena.

If we start kicking people out for glass banging, where does it end? Next, we’ll be banning air horns, rally towels, and enthusiastic chants. Let the bangers bang, my friend — it’s the sound of the game.

Glass banging? Really? I can think of many other things that are far more annoying..lets start with that jerk with the horn in Washington. The guy sitting behind him has the right idea 🤣

Ban chirping opposing players as they goto the penalty box too. Let's just ban all forms of fun in the arena. If you are at a hockey game you should be expected to sit quietly, and cheering during a goal is the most excitement you can display.

Hell no it shouldn't be banned, it is not loud considering the environment, it doesn't hurt anyone, doesn't damage the property. It heightens the atmosphere showing fans at their most enthused. Always sets the mood, it's great.
