Fanatics has been been making MLB uniforms for all 30 MLB teams for a few years. It is Nike on the uniforms but according to the article below Fanatics has been doing it for them. How about let's give them a chance? No matter what the league did I realize some people will be negative. A 10 year financial commitment is a lot. I am sure they want to do well and get a return on their investment.

Nope I am not giving Fanatics a chance. The NHL isn't getting my business lol

I have to admit the locker room gear Fanatics makes for the NHL is made of good quality

The NHL are probably quite happy that Fanatics will be ripping off fans with poor quality but expensive products because it means more money in the pockets of the NHL. That's the only ROI they care about.

Is that available to consumers, or do they make special, better quality gear for the players to avoid another embarrassing player complaint issue like with the towels?

This move is really on brand with the NHL. I do wonder if there was a lack of interest from Nike and Fanatics having a prior relationship with the league, they figured to just go with them rather than try out another company.

Still, the monopoly Fanatics has over everything is pretty concerning. Its one thing if they did things well, its another when their are quality control issues. Some of the products with Mitchell and Ness on it are of such bad quality (yet still high prices), its a real shame.

To be fair we already have a good idea of what quality to expect from Fanatics. Hopefully, they can do well but I do not expect them to be half as good or creative as addidas.

I think thats the issue. While on one hand we should give them a fair chance to prove themselves as an authentic jersey provider. On the other hand, they have a track record for us to base our expectations on and frankly its one that is warranted considering they have not done much to address the quality control issues.

The only silver lining is that because they are on the on ice providers, they will need to actually invest in quality as the last thing you want to do is tick off athletes who can be pretty particular about their equipment. Unlike fans, athletes can cause bad PR really fast for a company.

Terrible news. There stuff is terrible. Guess I will just buy knock-offs.
We're a big baseball family and we love baseball hats. The last several years, their hats have been some of the worst designs ever. Ugly designs and they insist on putting these huge side patches on every hat style now. Even my 9 year-old hates their hats.

Nobody should be surprised. Biosteel all over again

This is such a weird take. The Biosteel deal was fine - it's an up-and-coming brand with lots of ties to hockey.

Which seems to be the case here as well. For on-ice gear they're using the exact same factory as before so there'll be no change there.

it’s has no where near the marketing prowess that gateraid has . The nhl struggles with marketing.
