Larsson’s shot suppression metrics were world class. I am not knocking Eakins, but if fans think he’s a 1 for 1 Larsson replacement, they are comparing two different types of apples, if not apples and oranges.

Besides just saying BPA, what do we go for with our first 2 picks in 2021? The 1st round seems to be very heavy D oriented. Unfortunately only looks like 1 goalie is being given a sure fire 1st round grade. With Dahlin+Johnson+Samuelsson on the left for our future blue line not counting Risto and Montour who are likely both gone over the next 2 seasons we just have Jokiharju as a lock to be on the team at RHD. I would like to see a big, physical RHD as our 1st round pick and a goalie with either our 2nd or 3rd pick to compete with UPL long term. Finally we seem to be set at center short and long term with Eichel and Cozens as the top 2 Cs and guys like Mittelstadt, Asplund and Davidsson. Is Peterka going to be a center long term or is he going to be a winger who can also step in down the middle? Either way I think we can finally say we have the center depth needed to build a long term contender.If Risto is fine with a small pay cut I also wouldn't mind keeping him as long as his ice time is cut even more to the 19 minute a game area and Jokiharju is given the reins as our RD1.

By 2023 a blue line of

Dahlin-Jokiharju
Johnson-Risto
Samuelsson-Physical RHD

would be very nice IMO. The perfect mix of elite talent (Dahlin), solid all around D in Johnson and Jokiharju, and physicality and strength in Risto, Samuelsson and the future RD3.

I gotta say Adams definitely is the best GM since Muckler and Darcy, by far. Winning trades, looks to be good at drafting and seems to be well respected. Don't think Staal would have decided to play for us if it was Botterill at GM instead of his former teammate Adams I think he would have chose to retire.

You were on the right track talking about his speed. He also has successful experience in the type of offense they plan on implementing.
