Travel issues (Penguins) might come up. While RS travel has team arriving the day before, PS games may require more options if there are mechanical issues (perhaps a spare plane on standby?). Moving Saturday game to Monday means that some kids/families might not be able to attend.

Pundits also discussed PS rosters. There are guidelines/rules in CBA as to minimum # if NHL players/top draftees. But fans want to see familiar players.

I had expected the NHL to have a set # of pre-season games for all clubs, be it 6, 8, etc. Seems to be a range from those numbers.

For PS, the regulars only play like 3 games, so you are going to get a mish mash of lineups and seeing a boatload of nhl/ahl tweeners to meet cba rules. Unless the NHL cuts down the # of pre-season games to like 4-6, don't see that changing much.
