The last 8 games Stutzle has 2 points. He is not shooting, he is turning the puck over in danger areas.

Ok so thanks for proving my point about needing patience in regards to Perron and Zetterlund. Perron spent no time on the 4th line during those 15 games.

Amadio and Perron had slow starts production wise. But just like Zetterlund I wasnt blinded by only looking at the box score. They were doing good things and werent getting results very similar to Zetterlund. You'd think this fanbase that ripped on Staios and then ripped on Perron and Amadio would learn something. But here we are.

I have no problem with the trade.

All I'm saying is that he's not producing. Because he isn't. That's all.

We are still winning hockey games, so it doesn't really matter for now.

I am not understanding the Zetterlund criticism. I think the top line needs a puck pursuit guy. When Stuzle is playing with Brady and Claude, Stuzle is the puck pursuit guy. Now its Zetterlund, who has been good on the fore check is a good F1 He has been fast physical and had good puck protection I like his game. In fact he has a little Alfie lite in him, which learning from the legend Alfredson is a great fit. I think coaching and spending time with this team is gonna pan out.

I remember being told that we should stay patient and not be to quick to judge Zach Sanford as well.

In his 1st 11 games he had 1 assist
His ice time picked up a bit and he scored 5 in his next 5 games including a hat trick -- did we have something?
Then he went 12 games with 1 assist and didn't score again for 15 games
He played 62 games with the Sens in 2021-22 and was moved to the Jets for a 5th round pick where he added 4 assists
With the Sens he had 86 minutes of PP time scoring 1g and 2 assists
He finished the year with 9 goals and 12 assists averaging 14:18 TOI

Since then he had seasons of 16, 29, 11 and 18 games played.

It does matter; imagine where we might be if he does start getting points at the pace he showed with his previous team.

Having said that, I think it is too early to judge him and I am waiting to see how he does over a longer period of games. I am not "worried" but I am watching and hoping he improves his outputs/results given what we paid to get him.

I hope he finds chemistry with Tkachuk and Stutzle on the first line and becomes a very good replacement for Giroux who is ageing fast.

I like his game. The points will come imo.

He’s kind of the ideal complimentary piece we’ve been missing where he doesn’t drive play but there’s enough offensive talent he can fit with star players.

In a perfect world we’d have another offensive dynamo up front to play with Timmy and Zetterlund could be the third piece on the line, then Tkachuk could play with Cozens and Batherson. As it is him and Giroux are underwhelming as Timmy’s two wingers so it’s a bit uninspiring.

So for me he's in the Dackell-Shaefer-Arvedsson range, closer to Dackell right now possibly, but honestly I don't remember Dackell all that well lol.

Well, what was nice about Deano is that he could play on any line. Stylistically they aren't all that similar.

Stylistically, not sure. He seems to play better off the cycle than off the rush. Not sure how many guys we've had who are like that.

I don't really think of him as a defensive specialist like Dackell or Arvedsson and Schaefer had great hands and was smooth as silk when he wanted to be.

He’s a decent player, he just not a top 6 on thai team. Maybe on a bad SJ team, but here he looks like when the playoffs start he’ll be on the 4th line

Ideally he can be a bit of a Dean McAmmond type who can fit in on any line if required.

He's noticeable out there which is good, and he's a decent player on the cycle, but 2 points in 15 games with extensive opportunity in the top six isn't good. Highmore and Gaudette also have 2 points in their last 15 games.

We can hope that it's a slump, or that he needs to get used to a new system and new linemates, or whatever, but objectively it's not good production.

It's because he's more defensively responsible than Gaudette and Highmore. He's also just an overall better player than them. Once he and Stü click, which might also involve Giroux or Tkachuk, I predict Zetterlund can start scoring in bunches. He needs to understand where his line mates are on the ice and where passes will come from. He's already showing signs of knowing where his line mates are. I believe the problem is, he's currently thinking the game a bit because of the new system. He doesn't have that instant chemistry that Cozens has had with Batherson. Zetterlund hasn't played with anyone on this team at any point so it makes sense that the instant chemistry isn't there. I would like to see him a bit longer with Stü. I do think Stü needs to shoot more and create rebound for Zetterlund to pick up in the slot.
