Fabian Zetterlund traded to Ottawa

I can see that he's working hard but not a lot is resulting from it.
Agree

He works hard . The details and his edge work need to improve. With the lower body strength he has he should have had no problem with Benson behind the net... but .. details. Jury is still out for me on him as a top 6 on this team. Still open to him proving that is where he belongs. Lets see hoe he does with 18 and 28. I don't think he should complain with the line mates. He should get a couple open looks where those guys get him the puck.

Stutzle should convince him to get a buzz cut to get his scoring going. love to see it on that melon

I thought he had another strong game, had some good scoring chances, and made a couple plays to set guys up (Chabot goal, and fed Stu for a cross crease deflection that came really close)

He only played 10 minutes, don’t think he has the awareness to be a top 9 on this team. He has a roll, I just don’t see him bumping anyone from the top 9, he has good skills but the overall package isn’t ready for a top 9 in Travis Green hockey

Well he's getting scoring chances in limited mins and setting guys up for chances too, so I don't know what you're expecting in terms of awareness.

Most of the game we were either on the PK or defending a lead, neither is a role he's expected to play a big role in, so low mins last night isn't surprising, but it was still top 9

We’ll see, i wouldnt trust him in a tight game, his awareness isn’t what it is with the other forwards. I like the skill package just think he’s been playing in bad teams for a long time and doesn’t know buttoned up hockey yet

I think he'll eventually be an excellent top 9 option, needs an adjustment period.

When he got traded to San Jose, he did nothing there either to close the year and then signed the 2 year deal he's on now. Their board were exactly like us in that, "hope he turns into that top 9 guy everyone on the NJ board says he'll be" mindset too after the signing which was already for peanuts. Then he scored 40 over the two sessions they had him.

He won't be trusted by Green over a lot of guys until he shows a bit more here, and it will come. Hopefully heats up right at playoff time

He is definitely not a 4th liner. I don't think he is a 1st liner. He is in that 2-3 range. Probably better on an offensive vs a defensive line.

I like Amadio with Pinto and Greigo.. Very effective line and were many games our best line.
I would probably play G over Z in the lineup ; I don't see moving G to the 4th line
He is definitely not taking Batherson out

Back to where he started IMO is the most effective.

If we need a goal we can be the 1st option to move up

exactly, don’t care if he scores in the regular season, he can save all his goals for the playoffs

Meh…

Nothing exciting, skates and doesn’t give up but this guy has always screamt thirdliner without the sandpaper, yet not soft, but he still has to decide what to be.

Been following this guy since his younger junior days and he has always had the mindset and will to work hard on and off the ice, but always seemed to miss something, mostly the hockeyIQ.

Does not belong on the first line or the second.

Hoping for a change soon where he gets to work his way up the lineup - if he deserves it.
Don’t wanna see a fading morale of the other players working hard and getting success from it while you have someone getting freebies
without earning it.

Play G in the top 6, Z in the bottom 6 and make a decision after the season to re-sign or trade his rights.

I like Fabio.

He's getting his looks and has room to grow.

Lock him up, he'll be a decent part of the core going forward.

And I think his number will come out good.

Some guys fit in well and some guys don’t.

Obviously we still need a larger sample, but I’m not going to assume anything.
He's had no puck luck. Hopefully he gets hot when it matters most. His details are pretty good and he is hard on pucks. Better vision than I expected. He is getting opportunities. Not easy getting traded to a new team system and city. Everyone here was ripping on Amadio and Perron at the start of the year. Now look at them.

New team new system it's not automatic. As a winger defenisvely his details are great. Always finishes his check on the d while getting in the lane. His down low play defensively needs work but he is playing with all new players. I don't agree that his awareness isn't good enough.

I’m not building a case because I am not the one that stated Grieg is a better player than Zetterlund. You made the statement, the burden of proof is on you.
You dissagreed on something that is easily debatable. Id say it's on you just as much as him. They are different players. But very much comparable as they bring different things to the table.

It's disappointing he hasn't buried one by now but I think it's tough coming to a new team. There's probably some nerves; he wants to impress and maybe gripping his stick too tight. Whatever it is, he's clearly getting chances. It took Perron and Amadio the whole season to get going. Good grief, I was wondering why Staios picked those guys up in the first half and now they are both extremely valuable. Hopefully Fabio just needs time.
