Sadly for us up here, that goal by Fabbro was the only one the Jackets scored that evening. With his arrival Evason has resumed trying to make Provorov-Severson work again and it doesn't. It just doesn't.

But yeah, he's looked good. :)
Good for Fabbro. And makes it even more clear that waiving him was a dumb decision.

I don't feel different about one or the other. I hoped they both had success. Neither of them did anything to deserve the fate we gave them.
Tolvanen succeeding really just irritated me because it was apparent to me that he was NHL quality and him succeeding elsewhere was just proof of that. Made me irritated at our scouting/player development/etc. Good on him.

Fabbro continues the trend but now im hoping his success will drive changes. I hope he turns out to be a real 1st pairing rhd

I guess the difference so far is that Tolvanen I was expecting to do about what he has been doing. Fabbro... well I didn't expect 3 pts or 20 mins a night right away... I don't imagine he'll keep up a 0.75ppg pace, of course, but even the icetime has been a tad higher than I was thinking. Good for him.

I'm sure none of it will drive any changes, however. We'll see how Tomasino does when he finds his next home. Then even if he succeeds likewise, I STILL doubt it will drive any changes. We'll just be on to wondering why Evangelista plateaued and fizzled out after looking so good at first and when he might be let go. Rinse, repeat.

Yeh fabbro isnt that kind of offensive player but he is better than he was treated here. Probably best utilized as a 2nd pairing.

There has been a string of young players here now that start well, plateaued, and/or regressed. Fabbro, Tolvanen, Tomasino, now Evangelista. I really just want a coach that is willing to let those players work through things instead of yanking them around the lineup or putting them into the pressbox for future waivers.

Too bad we can't hire the guy who is getting all the young players ready to go when they hit the NHL.

To build on the Evangelista point it's truly remarkable to me how we have given him so little chance to play with our top players to grow his game. In the past he's been the guy everyone has pointed to as earning his opportunity and even he can barely get anything. Like why are we not trying him with Forsberg, O'Reilly, Marchesseault, or Nyquist?

How did Forsberg make it onto this list??? I thought the top of this list was just for guys we shouldn't be playing or should scratch/waive/demote/trade?

It's these guys we need to be playing more...

... assuming we're trying to get that #1 pick anyway. That's the plan, right? :dunno:

Just continuing the trend from last season of keeping all the good vets together instead of spreading them out at all.
