So he doesn't know either?"I am proud of what we have created from a media standpoint and the level of transparency and candor we share and show. I am hard pressed to name a team that does it more constantly and often than we do but in saying that know we can always be better. Individual player moves are always unique based on what move was made, when and why. Often the move is obvious, and sometimes it is not. Based on the level of inquisitiveness by the media or the expected level we gauge our information up and down.
Dante played for us right out of college, filled many roles on our D-core, and always did it well. Add to it that he played more than three hundred games for us, was incredible in supporting the community, his teammates and was one of my favorite people to have in SMASHVILLE and it makes the separation hard. Player transactions are the worst part of our jobs and are never easy regardless of how they appear from the outside. I am happy The Blue Jackets claimed him as I am fond of their organization and city and think it will be a good spot for him with a nice role on the ice!
From Bruno to Barry to me to all in our organization we wish him nothing but the best and hope he thrives with the Jackets. He will always be a big part of SMASHVILLE and our team, once a Pred always a Pred.
Again, thanks for your passion, support, observations, and critiques. The relationship we enjoy and the feedback we receive with and from the community and our fanbase allows us to always evolve how we do things" - Sean Henry

I’m not going to push Predsident for tough answers. Sadly our alleged media won’t ask at all. “Transparency and candor” have a different meaning from the front office than what is defined in dictionaries.Wonder how many times he's sent that or some version of that.
Exactly

I think I've blocked too many folks to fully understand what's going on and I'm ok with that.Sean Henry's job is to be a cheerleader for the team. I don't really get what you all are expecting from him. You really think he's going to send an e-mail to a random fan saying he thinks Trotz was wrong or something? Like good lord I'm annoyed with this team too but some of this stuff is getting pretty deranged.
Same lolI think I've blocked too many folks to fully understand what's going on and I'm ok with that.
Essentially someone is mad about the lack of explanation for why we waived Fabbro from the media and has gone on a crusade of fighting with various beat reporters on twitter and then e-mailed Sean Henry saying he should explain the rationale and got a generic corporate sounding e-mail in response and is now mad about that too.I think I've blocked too many folks to fully understand what's going on and I'm ok with that.
but what if the person asking thinks they are super important?I have no problem with reaching out to Henry, but I also kind of thought the response was about what you should get from that position. Maybe my expectations are too low, but I kinda thought it was cool he responded at all.
Edit: I'll add, I don't really read 101s comments as frustration with Henry. I thought his frustration was towards our media for not pressing the team on a clearer answer. Again, could be wrong on my part.
Well, I'm not sure I could draw that conclusion either. Not sure what your referencing, but I am pretty oblivious to individual posters here, probably to a fault. It just doesn't register for me. It's rare that I can recall who said what, or even think to read screen names. I sort of read the threads here like a constant stream of consciousness from a preds fan interjecting my own thoughts from time to time.but what if the person asking thinks they are super important?
I tend to think that 101 is the only poster here who can rival me for insufferability... so I usually have him on ignore. But I think it's great to ask the organization questions, and it definitely does sound like they had a pat answer ready (which they should). Doesn't seem to have given us any extra information, but maybe in some tiny fashion it could help them to remember that they actually have fans... fans who really follow the team and know things about hockey and hockey players... as opposed to letting them continue to fall completely unchallenged into the habit of taking the fans totally for granted as dumb consumers of Just Another Entertainment Product, which seems to have increasingly become the case?Well, I'm not sure I could draw that conclusion either. I don't think anyone expect anything from Sean Henry. One poster elected to voice his displeasure with the org over this recent move. I was pretty meh on the Tolvanen waive, as I wasn't that impressed with his stints (outside of the one clump of games he scored a few goals in).I guess Fabbro's waiving and claiming stings more because Tolvanen's wasnt that long ago.
Just wait until we lose Tomasino next season
Yeah i really dont understand why we didnt trade his rights tbh. It was pretty clear he wasnt gonna get the same treatment this season and 2.5 million is alot to have bouncing in and out of the pressbox.I was pretty meh on the Tolvanen waive, as I wasn't that impressed with his stints (outside of the one clump of games he scored a few goals in).
Fabbro is different for me because he showed really solid play and then just seemingly got iced out for no real reason we could discern from observation. This waiver move was telegraphed by his treatment up through last year, yet we tied up $2.5M and a roster spot to bring him back anyway--just to go and waive him. I'm just not seeing a clear thought process from the org here, at least one that matches up with what we can see.
I assume the problem is most teams saw the writing on the wall. The teams that were interested didn't want to take him on knowing they'd probably get a free crack at him on waivers. I know he was claimed, but I do think if teams valued him as highly as we thought then he would've garnered a pick in return to ensure he was obtained. It could have just been a situation where teams thought, eh, if he's free to us aside from salary cost let's try him out for the rest of the year.Yeah i really dont understand why we didnt trade his rights tbh. I think the notion the org is transparent with their actions and through the media to be laughable. It is what it is. Fans are going to fan in different ways. I don't think there's much more to read into it.
When they got rid of the fan zone all you can eat my dad sent about a two page complaint to Henry and got a really good response way back when.I wouldn't expect Henry to give a real answer, and I don't think 101st did either. But at least he let the organization know his displeasure in the move and/or lack of communication about it. Maybe he's the only one bold enough to do that and it's not even a blip on the radar, or maybe there are more, if enough people bring the heat then management might start feeling it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained right?
