Rumor: Fabbro close to long term extension?

I'm beginning to suspect a couple folks here would rather have a defenseman that gets out of position regularly to chase Big Hits rather than one that's consistently skilled enough with his stick to disrupt plays such that he doesn't have to land that big hit.

We don't need someone next to Werenski to carry that pairing. Werenski carries that pairing.

100%. Sign Fabbro for a sane deal even if its a bit expensive. Get this over with so we can find another RD. We need to find partners for both Werenski and Mateychuck. We have the makings of two elite D-pairings if we could someone like Dobson to play with Mateychuk. Out ability to throw out those tow pair for 50 minutes a night would put us in the conversation for best D-Corps in the NHL.

Agree. Whatever difference there is, if you represent the player and say you are "close" that suggests you will move near the team's number. Until the decision must be made, you want to send the message that the team needs to come to your number to strike a deal.
