Well McLaren is officially a threat to Red Bull. Happy for Piastri getting that first win and props to Norris for being a solid teammate. Norris is going to more shots at winning as the season unfolds. The best part of thr race was Hamilton and Verstappen fighting for third. I still can’t figure out why Verstappen braked so hard when he hit Hamilton towards the end. Verstappen was complaining the whole race and was clearly frustrated almost from the opening moments.

hes more than a bit of a cry baby, he gets a bit dangerous when mad...but theyre all ultra competitive. norris grudgingly giving his position to oscar. too bad oscars first win had to be like that.

Great race for Mercedes today. The real story might be that Verstappen couldn’t push for a podium and didn’t have anything special in terms of pace. Both McLaren drivers screwed up or it might have been them pushing for 1-2. Not a bad send off before they all get a break.

I posted that before the DQ. Crazy result. McLaren picks up a couple of points in construct standings and Verstappen probably cements his driver title.

They really need to make the cars smaller with the next round of rules changes. Even at a supposedly easy to pass track there just wasn’t much passing.

It was announced on Monday that Carlos Sainz will race for Williams in the coming seasons.

I don't think Sainz had much in the way of choice. Still, this is good for Williams. I'm sure Sainz will cry all the way to the bank if the car isn't that good. In 2026 it all resets anyway so it's really only one more season of status quo.

formula one cars are essentially the same length as a Chevy Suburban. I'm not sure if the 2026 regs will reduce that enough to make a difference.

Nascar at Michigan today are reaching speeds closing in on 210MPH and with plenty of passing! I gotta make plans to go back there.

The F1 guys are near Amsterdam this weekend. I would love to go to that race but my wife will want to take the boys and late August probably doesn’t work for the youngest who is back at school by then.
