But Dean Makes roster Canada, not Bolduc
Dean, from November 10-Team Canada Announcement

12gp 10g-10a-20p

Can look at points all you want, there are 30+ guys across the CHL with better numbers than some of the guys who made the team, they aren't selecting the team based on who the best statistical scorers are.

I'm from Quebec, french is my mother tongue (as you can see with the level of my English haha)

I do believe that there exists some sort of unjustified negative perception against Québécois in Canada. And I do believe that it's very probable that in the history of team Canada there have been instances when being from Quebec made it harder for you to make the team.

However, in this case we have no reason to believe that Bolduc was cut based on where he comes from. He had no shot to be in the top 6 (Bedard, Fantili, Stankoven, Wright, Guenther, Othmann) and is not a particularly good defensive player.

Also, he apparently didn't have a good camp, Corey Pronman said in a podcast that Dumais and Greene had a closer shot at making the team.

Looking at some of the top 6-9 forwards, he sure wouldn’t have looked out of place. And he isn’t bad defensively. He was a good PKer in Rimouski. Patrick Roy decided not to use him as much on the PK to give him more time at ES and on the PP.

I don’t think he was in their plans from the beginning so I don’t think his camp had much impact. They never put him on the PP or on the PK at camp. He clearly wasn’t expected to make it.

Worst case bring him as a 13th forward and you have him in your deck of card to shuffle things if needed.

Zero reason to bring a Bankier as the 4C. He's the ultimate passenger, I dont understand why team canada, that has probably 20 natural centers to pick from, would take someone who cant win faceoffs to be their 4th center.

October : 8 goals, 13 assists (2.10 ppg)
November : 4 goals, 13 assists (1.55 ppg)
December : 10 goals, 7 assists (2.43 ppg)
January (so far) 7 goals, 7 assists (2.00 ppg)

One bad month, probably already heard
that he wasn't gonna get to the WJC
some point in November..

Love how the blues seem to have hit on these last few first rounders while being competive (Neighbours, Bolduc, Snug so far as well as Thomas and Thompson (eek))

Exciting to see what will happen with first rounders now that the team seemingly sucks
