F William Moore - USNTDP, USHL (2025 Draft)

The guy has really fallen off as a prospect. The inability to exploit his size and speed to stand out even against other kids is quite telling. If he slips hard on draft day, in combination with the CHL -> NCAA path opening up, hopefully we see the end of fully born and raised Canadians jumping ship for the NTDP.

I’ve been saying it for a year on him as he disappears a lot in games and doesn’t play with a relentless pace and grit . However , he’s is big with a great skill set puts him in the first round .

I wouldn't say he's completely fallen off as a prospect. He's always been very raw, but the potential is still there. Moving to BC will definitely do him good. I'd say he wasn't truly a potential top 10 prospect even two years ago but because of his size, many got carried away.

The NTDP has not been very consistent in recent years. In some years, players have made big strides and sometimes the development has not been as desired. It feels like it has been very much up to the team. 2007s was not a good team and it felt like it froze everyone's development as well. That's a big difference to 2006s, for example.

This may push some players to the CHL, which is obviously not what USA Hockey wants. The 2009s are a really important age group for the future of the NTDP. Also when it comes to duals.

Theirs a great article last week on him by the Athletic and basically his coach was saying a lot about what’s discussed on this board . His team not good so he needs develop more of his “ B game “ or his grinding game so they are aware of it . In addition, he still physically ammature which he still has lot of room to get stronger and grow into his body .

Be honest, the only time you have ever seen this guy play is at this year's u18s. This is just another opportunity for you to rail against duals.

I've watched a few games of his and.. ??

Really, he has reach and that's about it.

His skating is ok but he doesn't push it often enough. He's cruising out there more often than not.

You can see him use his reach to win puck battles around the boards once in a while, but not consistently enough. And the games I watched were against USHL teams, so he wasn't using his reach with consistency against not so competitive opponents...

He has Ryan Poehling vibe to me. That's about his middle of the chart potential...

Ryan Poehling middle outcome potential honestly isn’t terrible as far as non-elite prospects go. It certainly doesn’t seem like Moore pops enough to warrant a 1st round grade - but I think most services have moved well off that and as a 2nd rounder in this draft? That seems extremely reasonable.

I don't see Poehling at all but in the little i've seen I'm not impressed.
