Last season, the player drew attention to himself with his active breaks. And even then, he was entrusted with a place in the main lineup of the senior team for several games.
Čihař started the pre-season games 24/25 very actively. In the first game, he made an assist, and today, in the second game, he scored his first goal for the A-team.

Very skilled, I don’t think his IQ is nearly at the same level as his skill and skating.

Recently became the first player eligible for the 2025 NHL Entry Draft to score a point in the Extraliga.

And now the first goal for the senior team in the new season.

He was just one second short (better only by O. Beranek: 18:22) of becoming the forward with the highest TOI on the team in today's game.

Going under the radar so far, but he may be a riser. Good start to the season with Karlovy Vary. He got into the 1st line and last two games 18 and tonight even 21 mins on the ice.

Could be interesting how he will continue in his draft year.

Got the same rating as Benak on the NHL CSS.. B

That, if it holds, would put him in round 2 or 3 (not guaranteed of course)

Really curious if he makes U20 at xmas.. I think he might!
Yeah but now Vary completely stupidly send him to 3rd line and playing 20yrs old Sapousek who is completely average in the first line instead Cihar lol

It's like Czech clubs don't want the kids going high at draft lol

Czech clubs don't give a shit about developing kids. They are individual owners that want money. I like Sapousek and he's part of a nice group of 20 to 24 year olds in the Extraiga now. It's encouraging. Another one, Pavel Novak, is coming home too. I find that to be a good thing as we never have decent 20 to 22 year olds.

As far as Cihar, if he's consistently playing. He should be fine as a riser. SImilar to Kulich who also didn't get many minutes.

I do agree though, other than maybe Plzen, feels like Extraliga hates promising young players. Might be part of the reason behind the 'delay' from getting drafted and getting from AHL to NHL. Eg. a promising 17 year old Canadian plays 20 minutes a night in all situations in the OHL. a promising 17 year old Czech plays 8 minutes a night and is told 'don't f*** up.lol

No one can be suprised so many czech prospects running to CHL lol. But to be fair, its kinda rare even in liiga or SHL that 17yrs old playing 20minutes a game, they are always mosty top10 picks if the do so.

But what pisses me here, that they have a 17yrs old Cihar who cleary is up to task playing in 1st line and it was working and they switched it with 20yrs old Sapousek who is kinda forgettable right now. Just dont understand this move at all, I would understand if the switch Cihar with some experienced player but not with another youngster who is clearly not on the same level eventhough 3 years older lol.

This is one of many reasons why I don't follow the Extraliga too closely. I usually get mad.lol

I have enjoyed our clubs at the Spengler Cup recently. And I see it's Dynammo this year with a roster I love.. Hajek, Zboril, Cervenka, Musil (I will always cheer for him) and Kaut!

That is now called the Katolicky tier.
I think Novak is supposed to better than Katolicky in the same agre group. They are both very promising. Same with Tomek. It's a nice group.

I'd say, more seriously, that Cihar appears to be in the Kaut/Kulich tier of prospects. He seems very encouraging but the CHL is filling up with very promising Czechs from Hlinkas and such that seem to be stagnating. So probably some buyer beware. Plus, we haven't developed any real NHLers since Necas outside of our goalies. 7 years now without another guy stepping in. Chtyil was looking great but he's got major medical issues that I suspect eventually cut his career short. Kulich is a bit stagnated. Jiricek is too! Something about Czechs from 17 to 20.lol

I don't recall Kulich, Necas, or Chytil getting quite as much as icetime as Cihar is getting this year (in their draft year). Although he hasn't always been the most effective presence, he never looks out of place on either end and for his age, in the extraliga, that's a compliment on it's own.

I assume he's slotted in for the WJCs this year as no other eligible player has played as big of a role in Extraliga, so I look forward to seeing if he's made strides vs. his peers compared to his play at Hlinka.
