I’d be hoping he’d hover around PPG to live up to how much I’ve hyped him so far. Anything better than that would be a cherry on top. Ryabkin has shown incredible progression, and a flawless transition to the MHL this season. To expect that is setting yourself up for failure and disappointment to be honest.

So you believe Ryabkin is a better prospect than him? I know it's not apples and apples, but as both are birthdays at the beginning of the year, with him being for many years considered an absurd talent, I would think that he should at least play at the same level as Ryabkin

Michkov level perspective then? Because Ryabkin is destroying Michkov's ppg, but Michkov was still much better.
I understand what you are saying, but Michkov is more of a goal scorer than Ryabkin, so while Ryabkin is scoring more points per game, I think you have to judge Michkov’s season a little more about goals than points.

Also, Ryabkin is an early birthday and Michkov is a late birthday, so that has an impact also. Fyodorov is an early birthday like Ryabkin.

In fact I was comparing Fyodorov to Michkov taking into account what you said about his season being similar to Ryabkin's or better, since despite what he's done we know that Ryabkin doesn't come close to Michkov.

I mean with kids this young it's gotta be a moving target. Seems like making the step up to MHL is the big step so we know Ryabkin has progressed beautifully, better than maybe could have reasonably been expected.

Fyodorov - by all accounts still looks every bit a high-end prospect but still has to make the leap. Ryabkin's progression may just give pause to the original, reasonable opinion that Fyodorov was a slightly higher level at the same age.

Not nessasarily, just that offence won’t tell the whole story with Fyodorov. I think he’ll have a great season next year, but to expect him to beat the best offensive season in the history of the MHL isn’t fair. It think it speaks more to Ryabkin’s progression than Fyodorov’s talent level.

This is not an on topic question, but I see next to your avatar you work for Mckeen's. Where do you personally rank demidov in the upcoming draft? Mckeens list on elite prospects lists him at 7. I personally have him at 2 for forwards

I agree, I have him as the second forward also and third overall after Celebrini and Leuvushov. In my opinion these 3 have sort of separated themselves from the field.

I concur with that. I personally find it tough to rank D and forwards combined. Thank you for the response. Look forward to seeing some more of your thoughts on guys in the future

Just check Michkov's statistics in U16 leagues and at Federal Districts Cup and compare it to Fyodorov's. Matvei had twice as better PPG.

Game against Ak Bars

Fyodorov is #41 in white

Is he still considered McKenna's main rival in 2026? Because Gavin seems to be in another stratosphere right now.
That said, I'm excited to see what he's capable of at MHL

Probably, but if Fyodorov is putting up better numbers than Ryabkin, Demidov, and Michkov did then he’ll be right back in the discussion.

McKenna has the advantage of being able to play at a higher level of hockey a season sooner. He’s probably the best, but it’s unfair to the others to say he’s definitely better when they aren’t allowed to play higher level hockey at the same time and gain that same level of notoriety.

Bingo.

Ok, so what is the deal with this guy and his hype? Pedestrian stats both in the league and in NT.

German Spitfire insists that he is some kind of all-around standout, but PPG in russian U18 in D-2 season is definitely not a franchise prospect level stats.

I also asked myself the same thing. But it seems to me that the statistics do not exemplify the level of talent. When you watch it, you see everything there. Insane vision and Qi, excellent skating, hands and shot, very high level defensive game for his age. An extremely complete center.

For those who could follow him more closely, would he be like a Russian version of Macklin Celebrini?

I feel like the only person who has seen this guy is @GermanSpitfire . Have seen nothing else from anyone but him. Are we sure we should trust one guy?

Man he's good, really good. He has a special talent. The numbers don't match the type of talent. He has the potential to be the next Sergey Fyodorov
