Just preseason but was dominant tonight. Skating looks like it's on another level which is scary and shot still deadly. With the loss of Greig I expect him to be the main guy driving the bus and to have a huge role. Definite 1st rounder question is only how high he goes

Brandons been a mess so far this year, mainly because their dcore can't really move the puck but Danielson keeps controlling play when he's on the ice. Such a complete player and set up a should've been OT winning off picking the puck from a Ams player. great night tonight and only matter of time before he goes above ppg, imo was 1st star but got nothing.

it's honestly amazing he's even PPG with how awful Brandon has been run from the coaching all the way down to the scouts. They finally shook up their top 6 but still lost to lowly Edmonton. Still have a good group in Brandon but they need to clean house imo. If not for Bjarnason playing unreal they'd be in last

Brandon finally canned their coach and has looked better since. Dcore is still awful especially if Elick is out long but hopefully push for a WC spot. 4 assists on 9 shots tonight for Danielson, finally has some talent on his line.

Was the coaching affecting the play of McQueen and Elick? I noticed the lack of production of McQueen, who looked good at the U17.

Yeah seems he had the old mentality of young players having to pay there dues. McQueen got a few games in the top 6 but overall was used on the 4th line checking role....that's not how you use him lol. Also loaded the top line but gave Danielson nothing to work with except on the pp. Last I checked Elick was getting 15-17 minutes and little pp time. He's really the only good pmd they have imo. Brandons by no means a top team but they have more talent than the record suggests

Yes and no - McQueen had some decent looks on the top line to start the year, has played a lot of top 6 mins, and has been a mainstay on PP2.

For me, the coaching issue wasn't so much about usage/deployment - more so overall team strategy, seemed to play a very passive game/with no forecheck, etc.

Elick has had some noticeably tough times in games this year, especially on the ice against the opposition's top lines. Both players are still just kids with some growing pains yet, little doubt that they will become players, a lot of potential... Expectations need to be adjusted for 16 yr olds.

I really like the looks of McQueen, once he really grows into himself and utilizes his size he's going to be a force. The same can be said for Elick, really. Both will continue to get their reps, and confidence/improvement will follow. It's also possible Brandon makes a few moves to open up further opportunities and playing time.

I have certainly been disappointed with his offensive output this season. As an ’04 born with the skills he has, he should be putting uo better totals.

Hopefully the coaching change in Brandon can help him out.

He plays the game right way. He might not be the most flashiest player but points should come given how he plays.

He reminds me of your Brock Nelson and Bo Horvat type players who do everything well and are pretty good without the puck too. He is good two-way center for me right now. At least third line center all day and night in nhl, but maybe second line potential too? Not the most deceptive hands but other than that, he does good work everywhere on the ice.

Danielson is the best defensive center in the draft. I agree with the Horvat and Nelson comparisons, except Danielson is faster. I have him at #6 right now overall.

I really like Danielson's game - Strong skater, can pick up pucks, and his IQ shines on a nightly basis. That being said, his offensive ceiling at the next level may keep him out of the top 10 in this draft. One draft board I came across had his comparable as Phil Danault which I found to be fairly fitting.

I’m just highlight and stat watching but, how come this guy isn’t being talked about more?

NHL size, seems to have a good shot and can skate. And listed as a center? Feels like NHL teams will be drooling over this guy on draft day.

Definitely a guy that NHL scouts will be higher on than internet scouts.
