Max is the brother of 2022 Draft prospect Zam Plante and is the son of Former NHLer Derek Plante.

Max is an extremly skilled forward that can skate with anyone, he is a very smart player that likes to show off his offensive creativity. He is a fun player to watch - Although he is only listed at 5'6" but he still has plenty of growing left to do (His brother is 5'9" and his father is 5'11")

NCAA Commitment: Minnesota-Duluth

I think this guy is good, but it would help if he could grow a few inches. He skates well and has good offensive ability, but probably not for 5’8, so 5’10/5’11, he could very well be like a second or third round pick. 5’8, he’ll be a mid/late round pick.

That's huge for him. That'll help him get drafted a lot earlier. He's pretty good. It's the height that was holding him back.

He could be Perreault-lite in how his stock elevates this upcoming season.

Love his playmaking ability. Nearly as good as Hagens with how he passes the puck. He's second on the team in assists and has missed 10 games.

I think he doesn't skate too bad and now that he's 5'10 he has a better chance to reach his potential.

He's a perimeter one-way playmaking winger with average speed and he's only 5'10. I think there are limits to how high he should be picked, but I would endorse third round with no qualms.

Has 10+28=38 points in 31 games.

Now listed at 5’11. Was 5’8 when he entered the NTDP. Great playmaker, good skating and sense. I think there’s a chance for second round. If not, should be third round.

He might also slip a little because he didn’t have the best WJC18. Getting paired on a line with Eiserman will do that to players.

2nd round would be high for Plante in my opinion. He's still undersized and lacks explosion / dynamic ability. I don't see upside much higher than a 50 point middle sixer. He doesn't have a high floor either to push him up lists; real chance he's a career AHLer. He's skilled enough to get drafted though and like most 2nd gen players he has good sense / understanding of the game which I like about him. We'll see how things progress for him, but I'm not too excited about a skill player going to UMD either and given his ties there, things would have to go disastrously wrong for him to consider the portal.

I was right. Second round. He had an unfortunate WJC18 because he was on a line with a black hole, but if he had different linemates at that tournament, his stock would’ve been higher in the media and fans consensus. I suspect Detroit saw that.

He was okay at the juniors. Next year I’d expect better. He’ll probably be a middle six winger if it goes well, a great AHL’er who can’t stick in the NHL if it doesn’t, and the in between outcome is he has an okay but nothing notable and probably shortish NHL career on the third line.
