This is why the Sharks are load managing Smith and Celebrini... Just haven't seen it with Celebrini since he already got injured, but we'll see him on development days through game 41.
Same as Carlsson last year... Makes sense, and data shows teenagers can't handle 82 games right away.
Exactly, playing in the NHL at the age of 18-19 is very hard. You also don't want the kid to have a major injury.

This has started to become a theme with a lot of threads in this forum the last few weeks.
I have a suspicion that someone keeps badgering the mods to edit these titles and they are getting annoyed and giving these snarky titles in response.

Playing in the NHL as a teenager has always been hard. All of Bedard, Carlsson, and Fantilli missed significant time last season. An overabundance of caution is the most intelligent course here for the Sharks and the player. I'm sure his dad and uncle have advised Macklin of that, and wouldn't at all be surprised if he sits out a couple more times as the season goes along if he's not 100%.
I haven't seen Celebrini in the gym or followed what his combine stats were but I don't doubt he's as physically ready at his age and build as he possibly could be. Said it before but this is as good as an out of the box franchise C prospect since probably Matthews or before that Toews. The rigors of being an everyday NHL player are intense and at that age you still have a lot of muscle to build.

I didn’t watch his return on Tuesday because let’s say there were other things going on in the world, but watching tonight he is so complete and even at 18 has nearly no weaknesses in his game

In a 5-2 loss, Celebrini puts up 2 goals, 7 shots, and a +1.
He’s at 3 goals and 1 assist in his first 3 games.
He plays such a complete game too. Very defensively responsible.

He gave a pretty good postgame interview, seems fairly articulate and mature for his age. Hard to imagine he doesn't get the McDavid/Crosby young captaincy treatment.
Macklin Celebrini is the Wayne Bedard of Sidney McDavid's.

he grew up around professional talk. most NHLers look up to players like Crosby for how they handle the media and may get a phone call or two to chat and ask questions. Imagine being on a name to name basis with one of the most widely popular pro basketball teams and access to Stars like KD, Steph, Klay and somewhat Green
