One of the top players in his age group at the moment. Zajic is a shooter, he has a very hard and accurate shot already at his age. He is one of those players that is sneakily good at finding soft spots on the ice for scoring chances. Smart player that has a good motor. It‘ll be interesting to see how this player progresses moving forward.

Dislike hearing that.

He’s not even from the state. He’s voluntarily putting himself in a potentially tough position to not succeed.
Pavel, he's from Illinois. No program in Illinois, so those kids are most likely going to Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Michigan, or Michigan State. The Tier 2 talents might go to Western Michigan, Ohio State, Miami

He’s got a grudge against Wisconsin for Stramel who didn’t find much success under two different head coaches.

Shame that a coach that demands accountability in all areas of the ice should be viewed in negative light because offensive production might suffer. Hastings is one of the finest coaches in the NCAA.

Hastings favors 23 year old gritty veterans over 18 and 19 year old offensive producers. And that's alright, his job is to win. But it does hinder offensive development for high end Tier 1 prospects.

I think he's the best skater (actual hockey trait, not the synonym for players) from this 2008 NTDP age group. He goes past players on the ice like they aren't even there. Very good stick skills. Real good shot. 5'11 174. A little small, but not terribly. He's like halfway between Ryan Leonard and Jacob Kvasnicka, if that makes any sense. I don't think he has the true grit of Leonard, but he has more true offense than Kvasnicka. Not the most cerebral player. I don't love the hockey sense or playmaking. Can look a little lost trying to play a team game. But he can score and handle and skate. That'll get him drafted second or third round I'd think. Wouldn't be shocked if he snuck his way into the first round if he can quell some of the concerns.

I feel he's definitely talented and has the potential to be a middle six scoring winger in the NHL, but he's very inconsistent. The skating always shows up and he can handle the puck, but there are games it feels like he's absolutely lost, cannot process the game at the same level as his teammates, and is basically a black hole. Then there are other games where he scores a few goals, and you see Ryan Leonard. He actually is second on the 17's in points, although it's kind of misleading because of Berchild's early promotion. But he's pretty good. Probably gets the least hype of the top 6-ish forwards on the team. Yeah, second or third rounder most likely. We'll see. Needs to bring it more often than he does.
