He started very strong with 8 points in 2 games but he plays in a dominant team. He had already stood out in the past. Top scorer on his team. Player to follow.

He has been absolutely dominant with U16 team.

Since Fugleberg and Karjalahti are born in late 2009 (eligible in 2028) I feel that Santala and Max Syrjäläinen are currently the most promising guys for the 2027 draft although there are others like Liljeberg, Kuukasjärvi and Inkinen

Jea I have also Santala, Liljeberg, Syrjäläinen, Luukas Kokkonen Top4 right now. Missed out on both Kokkonens Pohjola Camp but they are good.

U16 National Team plays 3 intra squad games this weekend. Teams not named yet. Games streamed Leijonat..tv

Otto Joutsen is potential player too. Reminds me of Miro Heiskanen...

Is there a chance he could get a look with the older national team(s) in the upcoming tournaments? He definitely is dominant (or very close to) against the U16 competition in Europe right now. Overall I'd personally like to see Finland promote more players to the older NT's, you won't really know if a player is good enough against older international competition unless you give them a fair chance to show their talent.

I think there is a good chance that he and a few other 2009 born players will be playing in the 2026 U18 tournament just like there were several 2006 born players in the 2023 tournament.

I'd also expect the 2027 U20 team to be historically young with several 2009 born players (coincidentally the 2026 U20 team will probably be historically old with potentially zero 2007 born players included).

Yeah that's what I was thinking with the few who are playing in the U18 league now, they should be more than good enough to play in next years tournament. What about the friendly tournaments that start next week? Could any 09's be getting called up to the U17 team or is that unlikely?

Seems like the doom and gloom about Finnish players was a little overreaction if the 09 group keeps developing steadily, they really have looked great internationally this season.

Usually you don't see underagers until the Hlinka, I don't expect that to change.

The doom and gloom has definitely been an overreaction. The issues are more positional, there are tons of center and goalie prospects but a lack of defensemen.
