He's dealt with injuries, but he's having a really bad year. 1 goal (and only 20 shots) in 18 games for a player with his goal scoring prowess is really concerning. Can't see him any higher than a third rounder right now, and that might even be high.

agree - and thats with ntdp completely pumping him to the moon . It would serve him to spend extra year in ushl - chl before college but thats 50-60% of the team

Ya some Gopher fans thinking he is even half his cousin need to wake up. Gophers need a big splash recruit or transfer for next year now that Mooney isn't it.

5'6 150 to 5'8 157 in the preseason measurements. He's making progress towards the first round. Might not have it at 5'8 157, but measuring in at 5'9 165 at the combine? It could be possible.
Thanks, his eliteprospects page still says 5'6" and I was just gonna ask if anyone knows if that's really true, seeing he's listings there are between late 1st and mid 3rd.

rombach and phillips top 4 next year at minny - lol rombach has zero shot in first round - he might end of third round .
Rombach is being listed in a number of first rounds. I don’t know what to tell you. Third round I’d think is like the “worst case scenario” at this point for his draft range, barring something crazy.

And he’s done well this season. Was chosen for the WJAC team, which is basically the USHL All-Star team for the American players in the league, and he made the All-Star team for the tournament. I get he doesn’t put up points, but that doesn’t mean he’s not a very effective defenseman.

Phillips is a different story. He has potential due to his athleticism, but he’s a lot more raw.

Rombach doesnt drive play at all - hes on loaded lincoln team which mask his defiency. he got universal bad rating from usa hockey camp and the hlinka cup . i get it hes 6’6 but he will be average college player and long shot nhl player. Phillips is just not high end player from anybody watches him - i get both are big - rombach second round and phillips prob 3-4 round . i dont see them helping minny next year at all . its a weak draft year for usa so usa hockey needs pump big guys to get drafted - fiddler- rombach - amico - phillips.

Rombach/Phillips feel like a potential Collins/Glover 2.0 to me at this point

Central Scouting thinks he’s not a draftable player. Listed at 208 for North America by them. Just one list, but kind of crazy how his perception has fallen from the bad season.

yea he was the biggest dropper i saw from that list . Thats why i think Benak should slide going into the draft simply like mooney they are not playing center . Mooney liked to wind up as a center and with his elite speed was usually ranked top usa player . However , when you project him at wing with his size and his lack in my view elite small area IQ puck moving you get the slide .
